Your employee, Jovanny offered assistance which I did not hesitate to accept. It was beastly cold and this young man didn't attached the new blade. Without his help I would have been in sorry shape. You should do whatever is necessary to keep this young man in your employ, he is an asset to your business. My hands were frozen (as were his) and he saved me. I cannot show my appreciation enough for his assistance. Thank you Advance Auto for having such quality of individual in your employ.

- QKQT KayNov 22, 20251.0Needed a new battery. As soon as the guy saw it he said he couldn't test it. I had to show him how. AFTER purchase told me he couldn't install it. Asked if he could give me a jump but he couldn't figure out how to do it. While waiting for my wife I returned the battery. He was more than happy to do that. Went literally next door to AutoZone and bought a cheaper battery that they installed no hassle. Will never go back.

Brakes work by using friction to turn kinetic energy into heat. There are two designs: drum brakes (older), and disc brakes (newer). Both use hydraulic pressure to move a piston outward. In disc brakes, the piston is located inside a caliper that houses brake pads and fits over the rotor. The friction lining on the pads makes contact with the rotor to slow the vehicle. In drum brakes, the piston moves two curved shoes lined with friction material against the inside of the brake drum.
