- JFJames FMar 25, 20265.0Really liked the Nissan Versa that I rented from Alamo at DSM (Des Moines). And the Alamo rep at the counter was pleasant and courteous and didn't push the extra insurance. (I get some of it anyway, but all I had to do was ask what the types were and tell him which I wanted.) He explained everything I needed to know. One thing about DSM is that the sign directing you where to go to return a rental car is not visible until after you commit to a lane to the terminal or to parking, as far as I could see. Maybe after the construction is done, it will be clearer. The airport is small enough that it's not terrible to take the wrong lane though - you can just go around and take the other lane.

We show up and was told they dont do that and also wanted a $300 deposit. This was never mentioned while reserving the car. Customer service was rude. I understand if there are policies but at least make it clear before people drive an hour away to pick up a car. I will never go through Alamo again.
