She came out and did the diagnostics and while any other store may have tried to up sell me a new battery, she recommended that the battery should be charged and drive the vehicle more often. I really appreciated her honesty. She is a very nice young lady and a true asset to the store. I would give her 10 stars if I could.

And thank you for not recommending the most expensive fix when I asked about which of 2 things would be better for my situation. Those employees don't fix cars for a living, unless I guess in their personal time, but as an employee of the auto store I feel like they usually go above and beyond to be helpful and ppl like me who are on a very tight budget just trying to get to n from work really REALLY appreciate it!

Brakes work by using friction to turn kinetic energy into heat. There are two designs: drum brakes (older), and disc brakes (newer). Both use hydraulic pressure to move a piston outward. In disc brakes, the piston is located inside a caliper that houses brake pads and fits over the rotor. The friction lining on the pads makes contact with the rotor to slow the vehicle. In drum brakes, the piston moves two curved shoes lined with friction material against the inside of the brake drum.
