  You know when you’re an adult and—because adult things happen—life just kind of sucks sometimes? And because you’re an adult, you have to sort it out all alone. And that sucks. Nobody cares if you’re on the struggle bus. You are at it alone. So in times like that, it’s really the little things that make everything feel less bleak. Example. Your tire blows out on the H-1 Freeway at 8am while you’re rushing to a University of Hawaiʻi at Mānoa game. You spend so much time wrestling with the donut that you miss the game entirely. Side note: remember in The Martian when that guy’s front door gets blown off? He fixes it, but while he’s counting potatoes he can hear his jerry-rigged door straining against the outside pressure. He just grits his teeth and ignores it. He knows there’s nothing he can do—and if it fails, he’s dead. THAT is what changing a blown-out tire on the side of the H1 feels like. At night. In the rain. You get home late. You need that car to go to the game the next day. Early start time. Last chance before they leave town. Autographs to get. So you wake up extra early to sort it out. But no place has the tires you need. Or they won’t take walk-ins. Or they can’t finish in time. It’s Sunday, after all. Doomed. So now you’re desperate. One plan: show up at Goodyear Auto Service - Waipahu when they unlock the door and hope they help. They’re your only hope. Long story short, as I write this sitting at my game, it worked out. I was there when they opened, and not only did they have a tire that fit my car, it was done that morning. And it was. The guy at the front desk was very cool. Very helpful. Price was good. And I assume if I would have had time to order a tires, they would have made it better. Listen. I’m a Costco guy. And I know everyone loves their tires. But this place is where I’ll get my next full set. They earned it.

  Went in for my electric vehicle safety inspection and they got it done in less than an hour on a busy weekend. Mahalo to the team!

  Really terrible service. I was treated like a child over the phone, but thought it was because they were busy so decided to come in. When I got in both staff members ignored me while I was standing in front of both representatives. They proceeded to assist someone else that came in a min after I walked in. Never going back to that location again

  First off, thank you to Bam Bam for being awesome to get me in to my safety and telling me what to expect. Secondly, why I’m giving this specific location 2 stars is because they violate every right to privacy. While logging into my insurance app to show them valid proof of insurance for the car, they wanted to see my password and put it in. They proceeded to tell me that I should have bought my card. The safety inspector did all of this while speaking to me in a condescending attitude and not giving me any reason why he needed to see my password. What reason or right does GoodYear have to see my password for my insurance app? They think I can doctor or draft some fake crap in a second? I got my safety completed but highly advise against going to this location — unless you want them to know your passwords for your apps. I also contacted department of transportation afterwards and they told me that what the safety inspector did was a big red flag.

  Noelani is the reason I drive all the way from Kaneohe to get my tires changed. She always takes good care of me, helps me find the best price for tires, service is fast and professional. I highly recommend Goodyear Waipahu- ask for Noe!
