  Great rental car facility! Shuttle driver was friendly and very helpful. When you go to the storefront, you’re met with a very inviting interior. Kawai was very helpful and embodied Aloha spirit. Will be renting from these guys again. Mahalo!

  We made a reservation weeks ago. Within a day or two of our trip they cancelled our reservation when they realized they could rent our car for more. We found out once we landed and had to scramble. When I called to complain they said I could re-rent for over $3000 for the week. Bait and switch. Stick with the usual Avis/Budget/Hertz. Scammy

  5 stars for the shuttle driver on Nov 2 just before 2 PM. 5 Stars for Wallace at the counter. He was very friendly and efficient and provided us opportunities to upgrade and add additional coverage w/o being pushy. My issue is with the vehicle. We rented through Expedia because of significantly better rates than on the SIXT site. On the Expedia site, we selected a Toyota Rav 4 or similar vehicle. What we were presented with was a GMC Acadia, a significantly larger vehicle. I drive a Tahoe at home so it wasn’t an issue to drive and handle, but on Kauai in small towns, parking is often a bit snug. The vehicle type provided was a minor disappointment. The vehicle condition was more disappointing: lots and lots of minor body scratches and dings on all sides and the interior was scuffed, stained and sandy on the floors, seats and door handle niches; pretty much everywhere. None of that would have been an issue, (I mean, it’s Kauai, it’s red dirt and sand) if they did not require you to go through a very detailed review of the vehicle on their app, phone/camera in hand to record every new nick, scratch, ding, and paint scuff on every panel front to back, top and undersides. And this needs to be completed within 1 hour. In addition to having to document the vehicle condition and compare it to previous reported damage I had to do so using a clumsy and restrictive app. As a contrast, Hertz (in Spain) uses a laser wand scan that the office/lot staff use to record damage. It is precise, accurate and fast, allows the customer to observe the procedure and sign off on the recorded condition. We’ve had very good experiences with SIXT on Maui and internationally. And my complaint is not with this new Kauai office, but it is with SIXT corporate for this inane method of damage recording and assessment. Perhaps in retrospect, this is all a ploy to encourage you to purchase their “collision damage waiver” (which is what we do when traveling internationally). In any case, this felt more like customer abuse than customer appreciation.
