    The Status Experience: As an Executive Elite member, the experience here was a bit different. ​No Benefits and no emerald aisle: I received no EE member benefits (like the usual "Emerald Aisle" choice). I booked a Malibu and was assigned a Malibu, so no upgrades this time. ​The Car: The car had about 25,000 miles on it, but it was reliable and clean inside. ​Logistics & Service: ​Shuttle: We had to wait a little bit for the shuttle to get from arrivals to the rental center, but it wasn't terrible. ​Staff: The staff was friendly and helpful. ​Billing (Important Tip!): Make sure to check your receipt before you leave. ​The Error: They accidentally added an auto-refill charge (fuel service). ​** The Fix:** I caught it, and I was able to correct it with the staff, but you have to be vigilant. ​Verdict: Despite the lack of upgrades, the price was competitive compared to Hertz and others. I will use National next time for the value and service.

    Ended up in Kona's ER during my Hawaii trip and had to delay my departure for one week. The team at the Kona Airport National Rental Counter were terrific! I particularly want to recognize the supervisor, Tyler. He was professional and helpful. The customer service was outstanding. Thank you Tyler and team.
