Horrific experience on arrival in Honolulu. Despite making a reservation with three weeks notice, the car was not ready and available. Along with 100+ other customers who also had reservations, I had to wait TWO hours to get my car. Yes TWO HOURS standing there, no seating, no water, nothing. Just waiting while the disorganized staff - seemingly surprised by the large number of customers (hello, reservations!) - hurriedly ‘cleaned’ the cars that were not ready for rental.
I missed a business dinner while I was waiting for my car. This was disrespectful and unacceptable.
Utterly disrespectful, shameful and appalling service.

Checking out the car was an easy process through Emerald Aisle. However, returning the car was a confusing and slow process. There was only 1 person working and no directions on which lane to drive into. The person started checking customers that came in after a couple of us because we were in the "wrong lane" but there was no directions as to which lane to enter. After I complained, then an additional staff showed up, stating that we should have piled up the first lane instead of going into the next lane. Not very pleasant and no apologies.

I was coming in for 1 day of business in somewhat of a rush. My rental agent figured that out rather quickly and did not bother me with trying to upsell me on a dozen different things that I would not be interested in on my seven hour rental. I was at my car in minutes. Drop off was very efficient, quick and easy and the attendance were friendly and seemed invested in getting me on my way. A perfect experience!

I need adaptive equipment for my car. Y'all did it wrong. So y'all were going to fix it and get the car directly to me (We were happy with this situation, Thank you, Dom). Brenda called and left a message needing know where we were staying. I left 3 messages over the 2 next days and no one answered the phone NOR called me back so my husband was unable to drive on this trip. Hopefully they will get it right next time

I am updating this to a 1 star after a phone call I received from the manager at the Honolulu Airport location. The manager called me at 1:30 am my time, 8:30 pm in Honolulu. I of course missed the call, but the message that was left stated that I took the rental car keys, which I did not. Apparently it took them 31 hours to “discover” this issue. I’m sure this is a simple error and attempted to call the manager back. However the manager did not leave a call back number and called from an outgoing restricted line. I did my due diligence and called the customer support line and was told that there was no way to contact the location directly and that I should just wait for them to attempt to call me again.
Seriously…. They could not contact the location or patch me through? This is not a good way to run a business. First you accuse a customer of taking the car keys and then have no way to put the customer in touch with the manager making the accusation. And the reason for this according to the customer service rep, “they are too busy to deal with customers”. Well maybe you need less customers!!!

I arrive a Honolulu International Airport and proceeded to the Executive Area at national to pick my vehicle. They had several conservative choices. I chose a Chevy Malibu, loaded my luggage into the trunk and got into a very fresh smelling and clean car. After adjusting the seats and mirrors, I drove to the exit and provided my Drivers License, the attendant confirmed the total cost of the rental with me, handed my license back and I was on my way. Upon return, I pulled in and while I unloaded my luggage the representative confirmed everything was good with vehicle and checked the fuel closing out my rental. The entire pickup and drop off took less than 10 minutes, I did not have to go to a counter or fill out any silly paperwork. The car was in perfect condition and the rental cost was cheaper than taking a taxi. I highly recommend national rental car executive service. Thank you National for always being at the top of this service.
