  While our experience checking in was wonderful, and the agent that helped us was great, we waited 30-45 minutes for our rental vehicle. We then found out we were charged $262 more for the exact same rental and duration of time than another member of our party. When we brought this up to Alamo, we were told they use dynamic pricing so the fact that we booked our rental earlier than the other member of our party caused us to be charged significantly more. Even though our rental had not yet been returned when we raised these concerns, they were still unwilling to match the lower price. Lesson learned, do not plan in advance or use Alamo!

  Alamo Rent A Car Honolulu Airport service from arrival into the rental car garage was smooth and simple. There was a gentleman who got me on a waitlist. Now, that I know the entire garage was busy, not just Alamo. But this is the second time this has happened where I signed up for the skip the counter and that takes time registering your info and everything just to find out I’m Waiting for the vehicle. How does this happen when everyone books specific times for their rental car? This isn’t a Alamo issue that I know of but I never encountered having to wait for the vehicle after a group of others who have been waiting too at the rental garage. The vehicle drove great! Subarus can handle the weather no matter what kind it is. The wiper blade on one side was hanging out a few inches so the tight windshield didn’t clear of rain as well but upon returning the car, the associate who helped me truly showed concern. Wow, I didn’t even have to complain:) which is great when a company truly shows their customer the value that is seen in their customer for their loyalty and the customer seeing in the company in their genuine care. Sometimes showing empathy in response is all the customers want to hear but I wasn’t complaining I simply brought up the topic of the wiper blades and the gentleman associate was so kind to adjust the final bill do reflect alamos customer care! Definitely coming back to Alamo! Who wouldn’t when they are made to feel valued!

  This was my first time renting from Alamo at the airport in Honolulu. I dont know if this is common but after arrival there were 91 people ahead of me awaiting a car that was already reserved ahead of time. Little to no explanation of what the exact issue was fo the long wait. Once they confirmed my rental at the counter and said it would be an approximate hour and a half wait, it ended up being an almost three hour wait for a compact car. There were 4-7 employees shuffling 1-2 cars at a time from a different location as there were no cars in the parking garage floor where we were waiting to pick up the car. The process occurring in front of us seemed inefficient at best. We had to cancel dinner reservations on the first night of vacation. The car was new, clean and fuel efficient being a Chevy Trax. Drop off was quick. Wont go back to Alamo in the future.

  We waited 2 hours for our rental car. I booked this car a month in advance and when we arrived there was a huge crowd of people all waiting for their cars. After an hour I asked what was taking so long and the attendant looked at the list as said someone had removed us from the waitlist. We waited another hour and they just gave us the next vehicle available. We got to the gate and the attendant there said there was a legal hold on the car and we’re would need to switch to another car. After 15 mins a manager came up and asked us if we were comfortable taking the car and issued us a refund for half of the amount of the rental price. I did appreciate that because that was an awful start to our trip.

  We recently rented a 15-passenger van and had an excellent experience from start to finish. The reservation process was smooth and straightforward, and the staff was professional, friendly, and very accommodating. The van itself was clean, spacious, and extremely comfortable — perfect for transporting a larger group without feeling crowded. The vehicle drove smoothly, was well-maintained, and felt very safe on the road. Pickup and drop-off were quick and efficient, and there were no surprises with pricing — everything was transparent and clearly explained. I would absolutely rent again and highly recommend this option for anyone traveling with a large family, church group, or organization. It made our trip convenient, comfortable, and enjoyable!
