  This car rental experience with Alamo in Honolulu was probably one of the smoothest, quick and painless pick up and return procedure we've ever had renting a vehicle. Our flight landed late at night at Honolulu airport, after taking the shuttle from our terminal to the rental facility, we found the Alamo counter quickly. Line wasn't long, and when we get to the counter the agent were polite and worked quickly to confirm our rental package made thru Costco with added booster seat and car seat for our kids. Then we just take the lift down the garage to talk to an attendant there to pick our compact SUV. We were given the choice between the 2025 Mitsubishi Outlander and the Subaru Forester. We picked the Outlander initially due to bigger infotainment screen for better back up camera while the Subaru has really small screen and dated interior. Through out the week we were very impressed with the Outlander and glad we picked it. Good power, good gas mileage, 360 camera were supper helpful in our super tight hotel parking garage and best of all, wireless Android Auto so I can use navigation and music just like with our car at home. Return was a BREEZE !!! literally, they had ceiling fan in a covered but open air facility, most people might not appreciate it but I do b/c I have returned rental car in Florida in same fashion but in the sun and you are all sweaty for the flight after taking your luggage out and roll them to the closest covered area. Here at Alamo in Honolulu they were quick, too, before we even getting the back hatch open, attendant was already greeted us, asked us how the vehicle treated us thru the week and gave us a chance to ask questions, didn't ask us anything about the dents and scratches that were already there when we picked it up (we were worry and took pictures just in case). All in all, a great car rental experience! Highly recommend!

  I enjoyed my experience at Alamo. I booked third party and went into the Alamo system to set up skip the counter. As soon as I arrived, I went straight to the parking lot where I was greeted by one of the attendants who directed me on which aisle to go to pick my vehicle. There was a good selection, the cars were clean, and drop off was a breeze. I booked a full-size SUV for my party of 7 and we drove off in a Wagoneer, though Tahoes were available. Renting a car can be a nightmare if you have to wait in line and get bombarded with sales pitches, but this experience with Alamo was great. I would recommend them to anyone flying into HNL.

  Yet another seamless experience renting a car from Alamo at Honolulu Airport. I prefer Alamo whenever I travel because there is NO drama and NO hassle. I use the "skip the counter" option and do everything online way before my trip. I just show up, and they say, pick a car from that row. I load up the car, take some walk-around photos of the car, and go. This time I had a nice, newer, clean Toyota Corolla. No problems with the car. The return is just as easy. You park it, and a friendly person checks you out while you unload. Easy, Simple, Hassle Free. And I have this positive, easy, simple experience at Alamo every time. Thanks Alamo for running your business the right way.

  The Honolulu location closes at 11 pm. This was never mentioned or posted anywhere and when I called Alamo to tell them my flight changed to arrive at 10:43pm I was told everything would be fine and they would hold the car for me and not to worry. I even updated my flight information in the app and nothing mentioned the 11pm closure. It was a problem when our plane had to wait for a gate and we arrived at Alamo at 11:05pm to find everything locked up and still no hours posted. We had to uber to the hotel and back when they opened at 5 am. I understand customer service doesn’t check when the HNL branch closes, but I feel they should or at least advise customers to call the branch directly and not assure them everything will be fine based on company policies of holding reservations for 24 hours. They did not charge me for the first day, but I had to pay more in Uber fees and headaches.

  A few weeks ago our 2006 Ford Escape decided to up and quit on us. We needed to replace its hybrid battery, not an easy task. We needed a rental vehicle during this time and used Costco Travel. We found Alamo to have reasonsble weekly rates. When renting a vehicle from the Honolulu Intl AirPort as a visitor it’s easy access to the rental car offices. However living on island you will need to park in the visitor parking lot and walk s good distance to the offices. Iʻm 73 with chronic asthma , arthritis knees and walk with a koko’o aka walking stick. By the time I reached my destination I was achy and exhausted. I was third in line and was greeted heartily by a kanaka agent so friendly and welcoming that he made the pilikia of getting to this point a trivial matter. He helped my husband and I navigate through the process of renting the vehicle for a week easily. He gave us instructions to where we would pick up the rental. The next agent in the lot took extra good care seeing to my needs. Once we selected the vehicle my husband left to go back to the public parking lot to drive our vehicle home. Checking out at the exit was a pleasant experience again met with a smile and courteous agent. During this time Hawai’i had gone through three devastating storms. Each agent asked how we fared through the storms. Their genuine concern added to the five star experience. Returning the rental was a breeze. Again the agent met us with a smile and said there was no need to rush as he noticed I was walking with the aid of my koko’o. I will definitely recommend and continue using Alamo for rentals here on O’ahu.
