  I rented a car via the website last minute. I was sent confirmation and a request to come in at a specific time for registration. I attended at that time. The customer service assistant took me through registration and took a £200 deposit and took me out into the car park before informing me that they had no vehicles in the size I had requested. She made out that she was doing me a favour by providing a car much larger that I would not be comfortable driving, I asked could you not have informed me that you did not have the vehicle I requested prior to this, prior to me coming down and certainly prior to paying a deposit and going through registration? She lied and said someone had tried phoning me that morning but had not gotten through. I pulled out my phone and confirmed nobody had reached out to me. She changed her story to say someone had meant to contact me. Despite there being a suitable smaller car available I was told that I'd have to pay extra for it even though the error was on their side. Feeling under pressure, I accepted the car but immediately knew I had made a mistake and wanted to return the car. I called Enterprise twice in the morning on the day of return and even though their opening hours confirmed they were open, call lines were still saying they were closed. I drove in anyway and requested a refund. Spoke to the manager who agreed the refund however I found out later that the refund was only authorised the following week. Despite being told that a full refund would take 7-10 days, I am still waiting for my refund 19 days after I requested a refund and 16 days after the manager authorised my refund. This is after multiple chasing calls to Enterprise to sort it out. Happy to take my money immediately but not very happy to give my money back. Will not be using Enterprise again and cannot recommend their services to family or friends.

  It was quick and easy to rent a van. My only advice is not to pay for the fuel upfront, as you could end up paying more than you actually use. Also, take plenty of photos of the vehicle before driving away. I couldn't believe they had a system that tracked every scratch on the van I hired. Without my own photos, I feel I could easily have been held responsible for damage that was already there. I suppose that's the reality with most vehicle rental companies these days, so it's always worth taking a few minutes to document the condition before you leave.
