Due to a recent sidewall puncture, I required a new tyre to be fitted. The Tong Road Depot provided a good and prompt service at a fair price with easy communication, wouldn't hesitate to use again.

NOT A HAPPY CUSTOMER HERE 😡
Had my van MOT done here
It failed on brakes, cv boots off side and near side plus some minor issues
Also passenger side cv was showing signs of where but not a failure
I decided to have the cv joint done as the other side had been done the previous year
After taking the van away I noticed the noise still there and took the van back
I then asked them if they’d done the correct side as the drivers side had already been done only 12 months previously
Anyway they all looked a bit confused and it became clear they’d replaced a part that didn’t need replacing as it had already been done the previous year by another mechanic
They said leave the van with us and we’ll take a look
When I picked the van back up they said we’ve packed the cv boot with grease on the passenger side and within a few days it might stop the grinding noise on the drive shaft
I was charged another £95.00
Bare in mind this is the part that they should of replaced but didn’t
They done the wrong side
Anyway
It did seem to work for a few months so I was happy enough, but then started grinding again along with the breaks and discs they replaced 10 months earlier
On my next MOT a year later, my van failed again on the same issues, breaks including discs, cv boots split again 🤔so I questioned it and also mentioned the previous problem where the part removed and replaced was the wrong side.
They said why didn’t you mention this before now
I said I did and you packed it with grease and charged me around £95.00
She said we didn’t
I said you did
She could see a charge of around £95 but couldn’t see what the repair was
Basically the had to put something down on the system for the greasing, with no option for that it went as a standard repair or diagnostic charge to allow it on the system
They became very defensive and tried talking in riddles to confuse me, but I wasn’t having non of it, then the girl said I was making her feel uncomfortable, which was actually her feeling uncomfortable because of the lying going on to get themselves out of it.
I’m self employed and wanted the van back quickly to get back out earning, so just did whatever to get the van back on the road
Anyway it’s a lesson learned and won’t be taking my van or car back there again
Been using these for a a couple of years now before realising what went on
Always seemed a nice bunch, but certainly changed once I started questioning what they’d been up to.
So basically doing work that didn’t need doing
Also
Failing MOT on the same things as previous year
Cv boots split on 2 years running 🤔
Break discs and pads again
Apparently down to faulty calliper so I’ll accept that, but would this not be noticeable on replacing breaks previously
Im not one for doing reviews normally and I’ve even thought about not doing this one, don’t really like getting people in trouble so I was just gonna leave it and go elsewhere
But after thinking about it, its got to be done
Hope they learn to listen to customers and not try making them feel their to blame
