Went to Avalon yesterday for a tyre and tracking check,several faults found re tracking rods etc..They said they would fix the problem straight away,gave me a lift home and within3 hours returned the car to my home.
Fantastic service by reception staff and engineers,cost was very fair and their attention and advice was appreciated by this less than mobil pensioner

Went to National Tyres in Street with a puncture almost 12 months ago, they instantly told me the puncture was not fixable they don’t even need to check it, then they told me to look for a new tyre on their website as they’re are the cheapest available. I went online that same day and saw the exact same tyre significantly cheaper with multiple other online tyre sellers…. So I then thought I’d get a second opinion on my puncture… I went to Avalon Tyres and they fixed it on the spot no problem, and almost 12 months on I’m still driving the same tyre :) Good Year Wranglers are not cheap tyres and to pass it off as not fixable without even checking is a disgrace for National Tyres. Avalon Tyres were fast, polite and friendly and very helpful and trustworthy.

Very disappointing experience – £629 bill for clutch master cylinder.
I would advise others to get a written quote before agreeing to work at this garage.
My 2018 Vauxhall Astra needed a clutch master cylinder replacing. I was not given a quote beforehand and was subsequently presented with a bill for £629.32.
The invoice shows:
Clutch master cylinder: £67.17
6 hours labour at £69.95: £419.70
Brake light switch: £37.56
Total including VAT: £629.32
The part itself was only £67.17, meaning the vast majority of the bill was labour. What particularly concerns me is the six hours of labour charged for replacing the clutch master cylinder. I have since looked into the typical time involved for this repair and feel that six hours warrants a proper explanation.
I have nothing against paying a fair price for good workmanship, but I do expect to be told the likely cost before expensive work is carried out. Had I been told beforehand that this repair was going to cost around £630, I would have had the opportunity to get another quote. No communication from the garage to say the job had gone over £600!! And although they had the car all day they still failed to complete the job in one day, leaving me without the car for 2 days. Awful customer service.
The nicest part of this experience? When I paid the bill, I was told the receptionist, Jan, that my car had been a "b!tch" to work on, and they "don't want to see a car like mine again any time soon."
My advice to anyone considering using this garage: get a detailed written quote before authorising any work and make sure you understand exactly what you are being charged for.
I personally won't be using this garage again.
