  Efficient and friendly and a reasonable price. Exterior of the car was a bit dirty so not easy to identify scratches before hiring

  Our experience with Alamo was exceptional from start to finish. We picked up the car from Glasgow Airport after making a prior booking. The check in was smooth and was very well explained by Paul Johnstone who ensured that everything was well explained and understood. The car was given to us in beautiful condition and we where very happy with its performance. All in all i would for sure choose Alamo again if I where to return to Scotland

  Two weeks ago, I rented a car in Alamo Glasgow Airport and this is how it was. After filling the necessary informations in the first desk with a very nice gentleman, I was invited to go to the second desk in the parking. When I arrived, they proposed me an upgrade for 20pounds. I asked very clearly if it was a daily or total extra and they replied clearly that it would be in the total….but….when they finally presented me the total, it was finally a daily extra….too bad…I refused the upgrade and then, after showing me the car, when they wanted me to sign the contract, the total amount was 100pounds more than my booking amount….too bad….again. It was done in a way that they just wanted me to sign the contract with additional amount…like basic scammers. You now know how it works in Glasgow airport Alamo rental Car office…and it is not brilliant. The staff gives a very negative image of Scotland just after you land in this beautiful country, this is not appreciated. Update 09/08/2026 As for all messages, Alamo replies automatically to send a message to customer support, I just did, let’s see ho it will be handled.

  Poor customer service and jobsworth staff made this a more difficult experience than it needed to be. Will not be using Alamo at Glasgow airport again if I can avoid it.

  Absolutely disgraceful experience with Alamo at Glasgow Airport. I rented a car on Saturday, 25 July 2026, at 8:30 a.m. I paid for the rental in advance, completed all the paperwork, and was fully informed of the terms and conditions. I returned the vehicle three days later to the same location, expecting a straightforward handover. Instead, the very first question I was asked was whether I had taken a video of the car when I collected it. When I replied that I hadn't, the staff member immediately walked to the front passenger-side tyre, pointed to a scratch, and informed me that I would be charged for a brand-new tyre. I did not cause any damage to that tyre. Anyone who has driven a vehicle knows that if you damage a tyre badly enough to require replacement, you would almost certainly notice it while driving. At no point during my rental did I hit anything or experience any incident that could have caused such damage. My advice to anyone renting from this branch is simple: **take a full video of the entire vehicle before leaving the car park, especially every wheel and tyre.** Do not rely on the standard inspection process alone. I made the mistake of trusting that everything would be handled honestly and fairly. I am extremely disappointed and wish I had read the previous reviews before choosing this company. My experience has left me feeling that customers need to protect themselves from the moment they collect the vehicle. What should have been a quick and stress-free return turned into a very upsetting experience and put a shadow over an otherwise fantastic holiday in Scotland. I will update this review once I receive the documentation and evidence relating to the alleged tyre damage and any charges that follow.
