  I had a very disappointing experience with this rental company. After returning the vehicle, I was charged for alleged tire damage that was never brought to my attention during pickup or return. The company provided little evidence to support the charge and seemed more interested in collecting additional fees than resolving the issue fairly. The entire process felt frustrating and one-sided. Customer service was unhelpful, and my attempts to dispute the charge were met with generic responses rather than a proper investigation. Based on my experience, I would strongly advise anyone renting from this company to thoroughly document the condition of the vehicle and tires before and after use. Unexpected charges and poor handling of customer concerns have left me with little confidence in this company. I will not be using their services again. What made the situation even more concerning was how the inspection was handled. When I returned the vehicle, the staff member appeared to focus on the tires immediately, which gave me the impression that she was already expecting to find an issue there. Combined with the disputed damage charge, this left me wondering whether similar situations may have occurred with other customers. I cannot speak for other people's experiences, but based on how quickly the attention was directed to the tires and how the charge was handled afterward, the process did not feel transparent or fair. This significantly reduced my trust in the company and its damage assessment procedures.

  I returned the car completely full (I could not fit a drop more) and they charged me refueling fee and 4 litres (impossible, I tried to fill more, not a drop more would go in). They also charged me for a scratch I did not cause. 2 lies in a page, this will be the last time I use Alamo, bad practice to steal the customer's money. Shame.

  Excellent, well maintained cars and easy pick up and drop off procedures. In addition, I have to add that it was easier to manage the driving on the left business than I’d anticipated. The road signs and exits are clearly marked. Mind the traffic circles, be polite, and you’ll do fine.

  We rented a car via Enterprise UK/Alamo in Scotland. The car broke down with a flat tire on Islay. It literally took a dozen or more phone calls and over 12 hours to get a resolution. We were lied to multiple times by the RA on the island, being told that he was in route to assist but never showed. We sat on the curb next to the car for over four hours waiting based on direction from Enterprise UK and AA. One whole day of our holiday was ruined and spent dealing with a flat tire... We lost money due to unfulfilled reservations that day as well and incurred extreme stress and frustration as the entire remainder of our holiday was at risk of being derailed because of a flat tire and the inability for anyone over the phone to assist. Why on earth a rental car would not have a spare tire is beyond me... Using a local RA who has no intention of providing roadside assistance is also unacceptable. I will never recommend or use Enterprise or Alamo in any form again nor will allow my company to as well. This was the absolute worst experience I have ever had from a company like this.

  Watch out for the insurance scam. Know what CDW coverage you have *before* you speak to them or they will hit you with HUNDREDS of dollars you probably don’t have to spend. (Check your credit cards for coverage) They don’t give you ANY relevant information until you are standing there with the car being asked to sign and it’s too late to do your own research. We were forced to downgrade the car at the last second because we were being pushed to either take the car or walk away. We did have adequate coverage ans we suspected but they insisted on forcing us to find it under a rush. Insurance = pure profit for them and they love it. Actual car was fine otherwise, but no compensation offered. Edit: here we are over a week after I called Alamo and opened a ticket, just like they asked me to, and not only have they not done anything for me, they haven’t even found it important enough to return my phone call that was promised within 3 days. I’ve also found that it is NOT required for them to force insurance in Scotland. The rental company is required to adequately insure the car.
