  I rarely leave reviews, but I feel this experience raises serious concerns about vehicle reliability, customer service, and how complaints are handled at Enterprise’s Cowley branch. I rented a Ford Transit van, when around 20 minutes into the journey, while joining the M40 in heavy traffic and roadworks, the vehicle suddenly lost power and rapidly dropped speed from around 65mph to 35mph. With no hard shoulder available due to the roadworks, I had to swerve between traffic cones and make an emergency stop when a warning light appeared. I contacted Enterprise and was initially advised to wait and restart the vehicle. I did, but within minutes the same thing happened again. At that point I refused to continue driving and requested recovery. What followed was over two hours of calls between different teams, repeated transfers, and delays arranging assistance while I waited roadside in freezing conditions beside the roadworks. Recovery eventually arrived, but there was confusion over the vehicle type and destination, which caused further delay before I was finally returned to Cowley. By then, more than three hours had passed and the collections and deliveries I had planned for that day in London and Newbury had been completely disrupted. To Enterprise’s credit, they provided a replacement vehicle and confirmed by email on Monday 30 March that I would receive a full refund. However, despite numerous follow-up emails and calls over the following months, that refund has still not materialised. I have also had no meaningful response from branch manager Rahul Bahl, despite repeated attempts to resolve the issue directly. What concerns me most is that the vehicle failed so soon after collection and did so in circumstances that felt genuinely unsafe — losing power while joining the M40 in heavy traffic with no hard shoulder available due to roadworks. When you hire a vehicle, you expect it to be roadworthy and safe to drive. Equally abysmal was the handling of the recovery process and the subsequent failure to honour a refund that had already been agreed in writing. I gave Enterprise ample opportunity to resolve this privately before posting this review.

  Worst customer service I’ve ever experienced. Avoid this company at all costs. I’ve been waiting for a refund since March, and the manager never responds to emails or calls. They’re quick to take your money, but when there’s a problem, they completely ignore you. Absolutely unacceptable.
