  "I rented a car with no issues until I returned it. I’d mixed up the days for my next booking, but I phoned ahead to say I’d be late returning the first car — they said that was fine, as I was picking up another car from them anyway. When I arrived, they told me my new booking was actually for the next day, not that day. It could have been sorted so easily — just a simple misunderstanding — but the manager was incredibly rude, unhelpful, and made it his business to be difficult. Even my name change was an issue to him, even though I had all the correct paperwork to back it up — it felt like he just couldn't be bothered. He refused to swap the cars over, insisted I keep the larger car an extra day, and tried to keep my deposit to charge me a late fee — despite me calling ahead and them saying it was okay. Most of the staff seemed like they just couldn't care less. There was one gentleman when I first picked up the car — he had a scar on his neck/face — and he was absolutely lovely. Everyone else though? Not polite at all. On top of that, the car was absolutely filthy — not cleaned or washed at all. For such a big company, that really wasn't good enough. In the end I cancelled the new booking. I was going to rent the second car for two weeks but I just decided not to — and I won't be using them ever again. They said they could still charge my card, but the contract was already ended so they had no right to do that. It was all so unnecessary — he could've just adjusted the dates and sorted it there and then. Instead, they've lost a customer for good, and I won't be recommending them to anyone."

  I received great and friendly service here picking up my car rental, although it's a bit of a trek to get to from the train station. They do have a shuttle that can pick up from closer to the station, but you need to call when you get to the pickup point. Follow the signs for car hire until you come to the first parking lot, and there is a big sign with instructions. I think this is new based on some of the other reviews.

  Rude aggressive staff at York branch - they took £22.00 worth of fuel even thought we had measured to the quarter Tank they told us to - they are curt and aggressive when you ask anything of them - absolute abismal customer service levels - having hired for years from the Pocklington branch we will not use York branch ever again !

  Very disappointing experience at Enterprise York. Despite there being no other customers in the branch, it took over an hour to get a car. I was put in a car, loaded all my bags, and completed all the paperwork, only to be told I couldn't take it because it had pre-existing damage. I was then moved to a second car, which also had pre-existing damage. We went through the paperwork again, and both the employee and I photographed the damage before I left. Despite this, Enterprise is now trying to charge me for that same damage. On top of that, the car was filthy and had only 3/8 of a tank of fuel. Slow service, poorly prepared cars, and now being billed for damage that was documented by their own staff before I drove away. I wouldn't recommend this branch.

  Customer service shocking . The whole hire process was an absolute nightmare, staff are unprofessional and spend most of their time asking another member of staff on how to do there job. Hired a medium manual and got given a small automatic that was filthy on the outside and covered in scratched also less than half a tank of petrol (never had this with a hire car) When bringing car back a member of staff went out to check car and was looking at all the scratches and dents that was already there and then came to the conclusion that there was a chip in the window and it was broken and she had to go get someone to see how much it would cost to fix I think it was her manager came out looked at it for one second and said it was perfectly fine and nothing wrong with it . Luckily I also took photos and videos of everything and had evidence that the mark was there when picked up car they was also same mark on other window looked like it had been where a sticker had been. I have also seen lots of reviews stating the exact same thing that they had been charged for marks that was already there ! I suggest everyone takes very detailed photos and videos when they pick up Will never use again.
