- IBIan BrownDec 22, 20252.0Couple of issues when picking up the rental from Newcastle. 1. I was made to feel stupid after not being able to move the car seat. It was a Mercedes SUV so I expected powered seats. This was not the case. When I asked the staff they smirked at me and said showed me it was a manual seat just. I felt belittled and embarrassed. 2. While driving g out of the airport area I noticed the fuel was only 2/3 full. I returned to the rental location and explained the problem. They told me it was fine and would be marked on my rental agreement. I asked for proof of this and they got upset. Then said go to the service station and fill up. They would follow and pay for the fuel. This was taking my time and my stress levels were not good. I wasted 30mins of my time after traveling for 24hrs getting to Newcastle. I was not happy to say the least. 3. 2 days into rental the washer fluid ran out, after only a couple of uses. So I had to buy a full washer fluid so I could safely drive the car. For the cost of this rental I would have expected a much higher level of service. On a positive note the staff at Heathrow were very good and helpful.
