    APPALLING EXPERIENCE. I rent cars on a regular basis and have never had an experience like this. Green Motion UK uses an overly aggressive "zero-tolerance" policy to charge huge fees for forensically minor cosmetic blemishes that fall well within standard industry fair wear and tear guidelines. They forcefully debited £425 from my account without providing a single piece of photographic proof of the alleged damage. They charged me for three microscopic windscreen chips (£75 each) that their own return metrics state are under 3mm, in reality they’re barely visible. They also charged £165 for a 20mm wheel trim scuff, completely ignoring original, unedited pickup photos with embedded GPS/timestamps proving the scuff was pre-existing which was pointed out by the representative when I returned the car. When escalated, Head Office customer service was incredibly biased, patronising, and flatly refused to supply redacted vehicle history logs to prove they hadn't already billed past renters for these exact same unrepaired marks. They also refused my request to issue a formal Deadlock Letter. Because they bypassed card blocks during an active dispute, this is now a formal bank chargeback dispute and an official complaint with the BVRLA Conciliation Service. Take videos of every millimeter at pickup, or better still, book elsewhere. Edit *** in response to the comment from Green Motion to this review, I have spent days back and forth in contact with Green Motion Head office, only to face overwhelming aggressive response to my emails and photographs. I have been told that my photographs could be manipulated so they are not admissible and cannot prove the damage I have had to pay for was pre existing. I have been told ‘my AI responses’ are factually incorrect. I have been totally shut down when I have genuine cause for complaint. I have been refused information I’ve requested to substantiate my claim for unfair charges. So no, I won’t be contacting Green Motion via the website. This issue is now in the hands of the BVRLA who will independently assess Green Motions claim for my so called ‘damages’. Note to anyone renting BT75 LDV : ensure the 3 microscopic windscreen dots and 2cm scuff on the drivers wheel are on the pre-existing damage report. I’ve a feeling they’re probably a fairly constant money spinner.

    Absolute joke of an organisation. Paid £50 for a 2 day car rental. When I turn up, they don’t accept American Express or debit card for the deposit, only another type of credit card (which I do not have). The price of switching to paying with a debit card is £120, so more than 2X THE COST OF THE RENTAL. At this point, I can’t get a refund and any other rental company is charging high prices, so I have no choice but to pay £170 for a car that should have cost £50. Customer service won’t answer calls. The only positive is that Ali on the front desk is lovely. But apart from that, ridiculous company and would advise nobody to book through them

    Total scammers and fraudsters They charged us £1200 for a scratch that was already present before. They are so clever that they will find a scratch which won't be even visible until someone peeks into it . Even after providing evidence as we took photos and videos during that day of pick, they won't even reply back. Total cheap method of scamming people.

    If you want to be scammed by these guys, then by all means, go and take a rental. These people will scam you into paying for scuffs and scratches that already exist on the car.. These scammers actually charged my credit card £1217 for hair line scratches that I was not responsible for. You know the kind of scuffs that come off via polishing and are very hard to capture on camera? If you don’t believe me, just go read the many reviews already here. I am a level 5 local guide and have been very generous to companies in general, but these guys really keep up Luton’s reputation of a scam city. I will be taking them to OFCOM and making a complaint. If you have taken a car for these drainage dwellers, then I hope you used a credit card so you can make a charge back. Else you are pretty much screwed.

    When renting the wehicle make sure you check if its a bank holiday or not. The system allows you to set pickup time outside of opening hours and trying to contact anyone is not possible - the number in the confirmation points to already closed office. I've booked a car with pickup at 1pm and the branch was already closed because of a bank holiday, when I've arrived at 1.15pm. No one tried to contact me even though they knew my flight and my phone number. I was offered a different car the next day because the vehicle I booked was already gone and they made me pay additional 180GBP for the "upgrade".
