I’ve rented here before with no issue but this time when I returned the car there was no space in the sixt return spaces so I parked the car in the next bay available and contacted sixt to let them know that I had done so. They said they would let the office, which was closed, know. Two weeks later I received notice of a 60 pound fine plus 40 pound admin fee for parking in the wrong space. I fail to see how I can be responsible for that when there were no spaces available in their section and I had informed them of this but they charged me anyway.
Great service, friendly staff, clear instructions, easy drop off. Would recommend the experience and service
Absolutely disgusting customer service from a young woman on the phone. She cancelled my booking 2 hours before pickup and said I have to come tomorrow for an in person check, when I have already been verified and previously hired a car. She called me when they were CLOSED due to being lazy and when I told her to come in she said they are now closed. If you actually did your job properly you wouldn’t WAIT until I closed and have caused so much disruption to one of my most important meetings I had the following early morning, as well as costing me my hotel stay due to it being non refundable, when asked what can I do she blamed the “system” and said there’s nothing she can do despite being the one who caused the problem and lied.
All thanks to her negligence
Very disappointing experience with Sixt. I booked a BMW 5 Series or equivalent but was ultimately given a vehicle that was far inferior to what I had reserved.
The employee was polite, although didn’t openly say he was giving me a lower car until I questioned him, and the process was frustrating. I was first offered a vehicle only one category below my booking, which turned out to be defleeted. I was then offered an electric vehicle that was not
charged, before ultimately being given a much smaller and lower-category vehicle.
I was told I would receive compensation for the downgrade, but the offer of just £13 for a three-day rental is completely inadequate given the significant difference between the vehicle booked and the vehicle provided. The whole experience fell well short of what I expect from Sixt, and I would think twice before booking with them again.

Terrible experience. Understaffed, long waiting times. We booked a automatic premium SUV, got an electric Citroen C3 Aircross instead. Once we realised what it was, I went back in to change it. Not possible, since they didn't even have any automatic petrol cars available. Another person cancelled their booking then and there.
Accepted our fate since they somehow didn't have the booked cars in their fleet. Squeezed our luggage into this tiny car.
The teller promised charging was easy and plenty, every petrol station had chargers apparently. This was absolutely not the case. In total we spent an entire day looking for charges and trying to charge. Absolutely horrendous experience. This car couldn't fast charge at any available charging stations, the cooling for the battery simply couldn't keep up. Not to mention the enormous amount of apps you need to charge, great combination with the spotty internet outside the cities... Horrible noise levels and terrible speakers.
They still charged us for a premium SUV. They promised we could leave the car with a low battery level and not get charged for it. You guessed it, charged for that as well.
Ongoing process to get a part refund. They also charge a 300£ deposit, despite booking and prepaying.
The only positive is that we got a car, unlike some people that day. If you're going out to the countryside and they offer you the C3 Aircross, do not accept it. You're better off trying another rental company.
