- JCJoping ChaiJun 6, 20261.0Tried to change from a manual to auto with advanced notice (car booked more than 2 weeks and change more than 1 week) Told me the increase is from £175 to £270 over email but refused to change it for me until 2 days out and the price got to £341. It also says you can change it yourself in the portal which gave the impression that you can do it but you cannot change the type of car online and have to go through a human agent or the email. Extremely not transparent and feels like a scam. Edit: so when I was collecting the keys, the service staff asked if I would like to upgrade from a Citroen to a BMW. Expecting a more expensive car, I said no. He said ok. BUT then when I needed to make payment and saw the invoice, there is a clear indication that there was a free upgrade on the page. He proceeded to tell me that there was a free upgrade to a BMW. What that meant was if I said yes to the BMW, I would have been charged for it, when it was meant to be free the whole time. This is a misleading and unethical practice.
