  Had a really pleasant pick up from sixt Canary Wharf. Jonathon was extremely helpful and professional, taking time to make me feel comfortable with my rental choice and thoroughly explained all necessities to me. Would rent from them again

  Good morning, Here is our honest feedback from the rental we made 2 weeks ago. 1) Indications from the street to find the garage are rather poor, once you find the elevators in the building you find signage of Sixt 2) The car was readily available and clean, pickup of the car keys through the box was straightforward 3) We explicitly chose a petrol car as we were going to the countryside for the weekend but got an electric one instead. When we got into the car, it was only loaded 51%. Asking at the desk, we got the famous "We are really sorry" excuse. Impact of that: finding a fast charger station on the way, charging 45min and being in increased queues for over 1.5h in the motorway, so we lost over 2h for our weekend trip. Great start. After the rental, customer service (in the Sixt app) replied to this topic by saying "we got a bigger car" (upgrade) which really was missing the point, we wanted a petrol car. I gave up after 1h in that chat 3) At no point (Reservation Confirmation or Important Information before your rental) it is mentioned to you need to take care of any tolls in London or congestion charge. So not being from the UK, we went through the Silvertown tunnel where you had to pay a toll of 1.50-4.00 GBP which we did not know / not see. The result: a 90 GBP fine & 40 GPB administration fee. Idem for the congestion charge: 90 GBP & 4.00 GBP a couple of days later given we dropped our luggage at the London hotel where we would be staying for the rest of the week. So all in all, a very expensive rental for 3 days and huge frustration, when Sixt could a) put in place Auto-pay for these charges and recharge them to you (incl. an admin fee if they wanted) or clearly make customers aware of this before the rental. That would be customer service rather then people having to pay fines and hefty admin fees on top, but I guess that is part of the business model. 4) Drop-off was straightforward as well. Conclusion: will never rent with Sixt again, despite easy pickup and drop-off, the loss in precious time and the hefty fines and admin fees will definitely make me stay away from this company in the future. PS: standard reply from customer service put below, I will not lose any more time on any chat or emails. You got the feedback, up to you.

  Relatively busy Saturday but only manned by one person (with other staff just sitting around scrolling on their phones even though there is a queue). Offered an upgrade for a charge, when declined they upgraded anyway (?what???). Car clean on the inside but so dirty in the outside. Would therefore have given 3 star by the service person tried as quickly as possible. No phone signal down in the dungeon (level P3) but they at least have free wifi. Car return was easy. The claimed there was a new dent which was present previously on our video. Good thing we had comprehensive no excess insurance so it did not cost me. They took the opportunity to get money from the insurance company!!!

  We had a really wonderful experience at the SIXT Canary Wharf outlet, and I wanted to specially mention SAQIB for his excellent service. From the moment we arrived, Saqib approached us warmly and made the whole process feel very smooth and reassuring. He was professional, friendly, patient, and took the time to explain everything clearly, which made a big difference, especially when you are picking up a car and trying to make sure all the details are properly understood. What stood out most was how genuine and helpful he was. He did not make the interaction feel rushed or transactional. Instead, he made us feel properly looked after, and that kind of service really leaves a strong impression. The icing on the cake was that we received a free upgrade, which was a lovely surprise and made the experience even better. Overall, Saqib represented SIXT really well. His service was warm, clear, professional, and efficient. It turned what could have been a standard car rental pick-up into a very positive and memorable experience.
