  Due to a delayed train, I arrived an hour later than when I had booked and prepaid for a car. I had to wait over 30 minutes before the two employees standing behind the 3ft counter were able to assist two customers before me. When it was my turn, they were out of cars. I told them half of the delay was because of their queue. After waiting for probably another 20 minutes, a car showed up, of course completely different than what I had booked, but it was all they had. Full of damage that wasn't on their file, at least they told me to check it. Scraped wheels, plastic trim pieces loose, bumper clips broken, scuffs on tail gate. Employee tells me "yea, so those aren't considered damage" after I point out each issue. I photograph them. Of course, when returning to Heathrow a few days later they tell me THERE ARE DAMAGES. Thankfully I had photos, otherwise I would've undoubtedly been ripped off. As several reviews of different National branches in London will tell you, they have hardly any cars. They will give them away if you're not on time even if you've already paid which seems weird to me. I've had good experiences with National in the US but will not rent from them again in the UK.

  Booked with one week in advance, pre paid, when arrived on the collection date, they run out of cars, they've totally messed up our day, the staff very rude told us "we don't have cars, call the customer service". Better spending more and having a better and more reliable customer service.

  Une honte. Annulation de notre location le jour J, sans explication. Le manager est inbuvable, nous prend de haut, pas un mot d'excuse. Pas fiable, à éviter. Nous avons du nous rapatrier chez le voisin Hertz

  Poor customer services. They tried to charge me for "damage" to my vehicle that ended up being a dirt mark. They also gave me my vehicle with <50miles of petrol left in the tank, forcing me to stop for fuel in downtown London thus recieving a congestion charging violation. Would not rent a vehicle from these people again
