  Very bad service. Was called at the last minute to tell that the car i booked is not available and my reservation is being cancelled. Tried asking for more details and the call was disconnected. No one picked up the call after that. All follow up plans on my end had to be cancelled as a result.

  Enterprise cancelled my van reservation for a home move 9pm the night before I needed it, even though i'd booked it over a week ahead, and paid in advance. Used a local alternative in the end last minute who said they get loads of let-down customers from Enterprise.

  I rented a van from the Chingford branch, and it was an absolute nightmare from start to finish. ​When I picked up the vehicle, the staff member told me there was no locking wheel nut key. I hoped for the best, but just 10 minutes into my journey on the motorway, the AdBlue light started flashing to indicate it was completely empty. Had I stopped the engine without noticing, I would have been stranded. ​It got much worse on the second day when the tyre failed on the motorway because a wheel bolt had completely fallen off. Enterprise later admitted the van had undergone wheel work the day before my rental, meaning they handed me a vehicle with loose bolts—a massive health and safety hazard for me and my passengers. ​I had to use their recommended recovery service to go to Kwik Fit. The technician there confirmed the bolt could only have fallen off if it hadn’t been tightened properly. I had to pay £103 out of my own pocket for the tyre and lost half a day of my rental. ​When I returned the van, the nightmare continued. The branch employee rudely argued with me, claimed there was a locking wheel nut key, held my deposit, and tried to charge me to replace it. ​Update: After arguing with me for half an hour, the branch finally called me back to admit their own mechanic confirmed there was never a locking wheel nut on the vehicle—it just had regular bolts. ​The staff here are completely clueless about the safety of the vehicles they are renting out, and the customer service was aggressively rude. I am deeply shaken by how dangerous this vehicle was and outraged by how I was treated. Avoid this branch at all costs.

  I was very disappointed with my recent experience at Enterprise Chingford. I received a call just 40 minutes before I was due to pick up a van, informing me that no vans would be available until midday. This caused me to miss an important collection and completely disrupted my day. Had the branch contacted me even 24 hours earlier, I could have made alternative arrangements. I asked whether an alternative vehicle could be provided and was told that no vehicles were available. However, when I eventually arrived later to collect the van, there were multiple vans and other vehicles on site, which made the situation even more frustrating. I’m sure the standard response will be “sorry” and “please contact customer services,” but unfortunately that does not make up for the inconvenience caused. A company the size of Enterprise should manage availability better and communicate with customers in a timely manner. I’ve been an Enterprise customer for a long time and have never experienced this level of poor service before. Very disappointing.
