I originally booked a VW Multivan (or similar) because we were travelling for 5 days with two babies, and the extra space and rotating seats were important factors in our decision. Space and comfort were our main priorities for the trip.
A few weeks after booking, the reservation was changed, and the vehicle category had been updated. I contacted Enterprise several times before collection to explain that we specifically needed a vehicle comparable to the VW Multivan due to the amount of luggage and baby equipment we would be carrying. Each time I was told that my request had been noted and that the booking would be treated as a priority.
When we collected the vehicle, we were given a Ford Tourneo 7-seater. While it accommodated all passengers, it did not provide the same level of space, flexibility, or comfort that we had expected when booking the Multivan. One of the reasons we chose the Multivan was for its spacious interior and rotating seats, which would have made travelling with two babies much easier.
As a result, the trip felt much more cramped than anticipated, and the lack of space made a long 5-day journey more tiring and less comfortable for everyone.
The staff were polite and helpful throughout, which is why I’m giving 3 stars. However, I feel that customers who book a larger premium people carrier should be provided with a replacement that is genuinely comparable in terms of space and features, especially when travelling with young children and significant luggage. Just having a seven seater instead of another doesn’t mean it’s similar.
