    I had a non-fault claim through Hastings Direct, who passed my claim to Enterprise. The Enterprise branch on Beverley Road contacted me and arranged my hire car. I was pleased to receive a like-for-like replacement, which was an electric Peugeot. When I collected the car, I signed the paperwork, was handed the keys, and drove away. After arriving at work, I noticed a fairly large chip in one of the tyres. It looked significant enough that I assumed it had already been recorded, but I took a photo of it the following day just in case. Once my own car had been repaired, I returned the hire car. Shortly afterwards, I received a call from Enterprise saying there was damage to the tyre. I got the impression the person I spoke to didn’t believe the damage was already there, but when I explained that I had a photo taken during the hire period, he asked me to email it over. A few days later, he thanked me for sending the photo and confirmed that I wouldn’t be charged. However, a couple of weeks later, I received a bill from Enterprise’s damage recovery team, including photos of the tyre. I had to forward the email from the branch confirming the damage had already been acknowledged. This led to further emails between the branch and the damage recovery team, with me copied in, before the issue was resolved. I feel this situation could have been avoided if the vehicle had been properly checked and any existing damage recorded before it was handed over. If I hadn’t taken that photo, I could have been left in a very difficult position. George sorted this out and was very nice. All the team was very nice and I had a very good experience, the damage claim at the end of the hire let it down slightly.
