  No car available for me on arrival - had 5 hours to inform me that was the case and no effort made to contact me. Mario was hostile and ultimately unhelpful - didn’t want to help. Very disappointed - have had so many good experiences with Sixt across Europe, and of course in the UK it’s awful.

  Definitely book automatic and get the smallest car possible, UK roads are TINY ! Also get insurance for the car, there is a high chance you will damage it. I had ZERO damages with Sixt over 15 years+ before driving in the UK but could not avoid scratching the rims to avoid running into oncoming traffic. Thanks to Mr. Rudro Mukherjee, we got everything sorted and the right car and protection for these tiny roads where you can't see anything because they have walls everywhere to block the view. I cannot thank Mr. Mukherjee enough for warning us about the dangers of UK driving and insisting on us getting the insurance package.

  Do not trust this business! There are mistakes… and then there are failures to honour even the simplest premise of your contract. Five people on a cruise, lots of luggage, a (necessarily) large van hired six months in advance, fully paid…. only to discover it had been swapped out for a small hatchback. They may as well have offered us a bicycle. It left us stranded in Southhampton, needing to scramble to get to Heathrow, with our plans to see Stonehenge and other sights flushed down the toilet. Sixt couldn’t meet the simplest of expectations - to honour what we’d paid for - and it took legal strong-arming to force a full refund. But don’t take it from me. In the words of the company itself: “We truly understand (your) concern; however, we are unable to guarantee vehicle availability, as our fleet inventory is subject to change at any time based on demand and operational.” I had naively assumed donating nearly £400 of my money six months earlier was supposed to ‘guarantee vehicle availability’. I imagine this will be my last time in the UK, so no more Stonehenge or Winchester Cathedral. People in the tourism business should remember those personal consequences when they take a dump on their customers.

  I recently rented a car from Sixit at Southampton airport. The flight was delayed so I was worried that I was going to miss my rental slot. Amaima from Sixit got in contact with me and talked me through the process. She ensured that I was not going to be left stranded. I was truly happy to find out that level of customer service still exists. The car was brilliant, clean and easy to drive but made all the better because of the start to my journey that the staff (especially Amaima) provided.
