  Incredibly frustrating experience. On returning a car there was a tiny bulge on a tire. They kept my £200 deposit plus an extra £50 despite no impact mark on the tire. I was informed that this £250 would cover the replacement tire with the remainder refunded back to me in a few days. The person behind the desk could not tell me how much the replacement would cost nor how long it would take, only that it would be sorted 'soon' and that it would not exceed £250. Two and a half weeks later, after receiving no responses to my enquiries I received a bill for a further £70 with no explanation or clarification. The way this is being handled by Enterprise is so disappointing and is completely lacking in transparency. Do not use these people, they will take you for a ride.

  Staff were friendly during pickup, but failed to explain that there is a bus-only route that is camera-enforced if you exit the garage to the left. Signage failed to alert us to this as well. As somebody who had never operated a right-hand drive car before, better exit instructions would have been appreciated, given the £50 fine and £35 administration fee for exiting the garage the wrong way. Update: after working with support, they agreed to waive the £35 administration fee, and for that I’ll happily give back a few stars! I genuinely had a great experience beyond the bus lane confusion!

  WARNING - ALAMO/ENTERPRISE ARE NOT TO BE TRUSTED Problem 1: they will charge you whatever they want for smaller damages if you did not buy their premium to reduce the excess. Problem 2: the staff in store will quote a price to repair a damage and make you sign for that price without warning it could be higher. The quote for my situation more than doubled. They then claim that you signed to repair any damages, even though they do not disclose in person that any damages their workshop finds later are also your problem. Problem 3: the damage reclaim company Alamo/Enterprise uses is unreliable, slow, and unhelpful. I had to ask to be provided the damage report for my insurance company and when received, I noticed a document hidden amongst the others that said I was going to be charged an additional amount within 14 days from when I was SUPPOSED to be emailed the quote. Luckily I had received the quote about 4 days before the automatic charge so I could delay them charging my card without my knowledge. Problem 4: a staff member accompanies you to the car on pickup and says they 'have listed down all damages'. DO NOT TRUST THIS. Take photos of even the tiniest of marks, and make them drive it out of the dark, cramped parking spot so you can properly inspect the car. I noticed the rims of the wheels were looking a bit scuffed and assumed that because of how obvious the defect was, they would have noticed and put it down to wear and tear. They did not. And I had to pay for the damage 'I caused' later. I got lucky because I had holiday insurance to cover all damages, but if you are not covered by any insurance, either buy the reduced excess or STAY AWAY!! I got another car from Arnold Clark at Glasgow Airport a week later and had a perfect experience. Avoid the hassle of dealing with Alamo/Enterprise and pick a better rental company.

  We waited an hour after the booked time to collect our car despite arriving on time. The office was chaotic and crowded with at least 10-15 customers all waiting for their cars. Staff were polite and apologetic, explaining there was a backlog, but an hour wait is not good enough and we had a long drive ahead and an appointment we nearly missed. No discount was offered for the inconvenience. The layout of the office is awful and customers were carrying heavy cases up and down flights of stairs. The car was wet all over when we picked it up, which is not great for spotting any dents or defects. Overall a really poor experience, though the staff did their best.

  Beware! Poor experience at the Oswald St. Enterprise location. Please be cautious and check if they overcharge you on damages that are not yours. Also, take photos of every inch of your rental car at pickup. When we dropped off the car they looked at every inch of the car, with a flashlight. Never experienced such scrutiny before, but fair enough. The staff member said there were new scratches and the excess would be charged. Luckily I had taken photos of the car upon pickup so I could proof that the damage was indeed already there at pickup. The staff then confirmed there would obviously be no charge for me. Well, when I had already left the location I received a final statement and -surprise surprise- they did charge the full excess! So annoying. I ran back to the rental office and spoke to the manager who assured me it was a mistake and he would refund the charge first thing the next day. He gave me his personal email, should anything go wrong. Well i thought it was all sorted.. It wasn’t, i never received any refund and even after multiple emails, not a single reply from that manager. Such a hassle. In the end I had to jump through the whole general customer service hoop to reach anyone that could assist. I finally got my money back after weeks and lots of emails. And not even a single apology. I believe I would not have gotten a refund if i had not been so persistant and had not taken photos, including a photo of their internal system device with the note I pressed them to write acknowledging the damage was already there (see attached pic). No, this is certainly NOT a location or company I will rent with again, it all felt like ‘very hard to deal with’, they basically throw charges at you and let you figure out how to get your money back. Feels like a big scam to draw money from their unsuspecting customers. Avoid!
