  Hard to fault these guy (and I never give five star reviews!). The most helpful garage in Lewes. Really got me out a hole when my tyre blew near them.

  I was visiting Lewes for the day to get my wedding dress and I managed to lock my keys in my car. I had no idea where I was or what I was going to do but a quick google search told me this wonderful garage was a 5 minute walk away. I went and told them my issue and asked if they could help, they couldn’t have been more obliging. Tom walked to my car with me and spent 45 minutes trying to get into the car to unlock it, with no luck I said it would be best to smash a window. We went back down to the garage to get a window breaker but Dave said that he thought he could get in without any damage. Dave then came up to the car with me and attempted to get, and successfully managed to do so! It was the biggest relief, they were such life savers. I am forever in debt to them. I offered to give some money but they kindly said it was free of charge, Dave even gave my car a once over to make sure there was no residual damage. Some of the kindest people I have ever met. Thank you so much for helping me and for going above and beyond.

  I have mixed feelings because I initially appreciated this business coming to my aid. I was stranded on the high street during rush hour with a three month old baby and a burst tyre. While they don't usually do call-outs, they came to help but unfortunately their "assistance" left my car worse & in a dangerous state to drive due to “cowboy” techniques… let alone financially exploitative. Firstly .. over torqued bolts - The mechanic used an impact gun to tighten my wheel bolts far beyond the required torque. He did them up so tightly that when I went to a different garage later, it actually broke the other tyre garage tools trying to get the wheel off. Had I broken down again, not even the RAC would have been able to change my tyre at the roadside. Over-tightening like this can stretch bolts to the point of snapping or warp your brake discs. Secondly, mechanical negligence - As a professional, he should have known that on a Four-Wheel Drive car, you cannot simply put a random ‘summer’ tyre on one side but he did… Mismatched tyres on the same axle can cause damage to the car's differential and drivetrain. Instead of fitting my spare tyre, which would have safely got me home, he pressured me into buying a brand-new tyre I didn't need and ultimately cant use!! Thirdly… Because the tyre was incorrect for my car and the bolts were dangerously over-tightened, having spent £200+ with this garage, I had to spend more money at a competent different garage to have his work undone and the correct tyre fitted. While I’m grateful they showed up (and I very much like supporting small local businesses), this is simply unacceptable. The bottom line is.. if he truly wanted to help as he claimed, he should have just changed my tyre to my full-size spare that was already in the boot…

  A massive shoutout to North Street Garage for being absolutely amazing and fitting my car in to be fixed on the day of a failed MOT (which was carried out by another local company). Could not recommend them enough. Their customer service is one of a kind. My car knowledge is very limited and the wonderful Dave liaised with my partner over the telephone in regards to all the repairs my car needed so all i had to do was leave my car with them to work their magic! They fixed my car on the same day and it was all ready for MOT retest the following day. Will certainly be going back to them for all my future car needs. Thank you to Dave & all the staff at North Street for their help!

  Dave and his team are fab! Fair prices and Excellent customer service!
