    I was skeptical about my experience as I read all the reviews AFTER I had booked my car. But, I was pleasantly surprised with a smooth experience with no hiccups whatsoever. The pickup was smooth, barely any waiting for the car to be ready. The car was in great condition and they did a walkthrough of the car and the return process really well. They did try to upsell me on insurance and fuel refill, but that's expected. No harm. The return process was even smoother. Barely any waiting. They did an inspection of the car, checked the fuel and mileage, and issued the refund. I was in and out in less than 10 minutes. 5/5 for the staff and customer experience. I would definitely rent from here again. PS: I did take a ton of pictures and videos of the car, including tyres, before I started so that I was well covered. This advice applies to any rental company.

    Absolut NICHT zu empfehlen. Die Abwicklung des fahrzeugs lief ok aber dann kann der Hammer. Ich habe einen Minivan im März 2026 für 3 Tage gemietet und nach Abgabe, leider vor der Öffnungszeit von alamo, wurde anscheinend ein Kratzer gefunden. Es wurden mir erstmal ohne Information 2636€ von meiner Krditkarte abgebucht. Als ich mich gemeldet hatte meinte alamo, dass erst die gesamte Selbstbeteiligung eingezogen wird und wenn der entstandene schaden festgelegt wird, bekomme ich eine Rückerstattung. Was ist wirklich passiert? Alamo hat den echten resultierenden schaden zusätzlich (684€) angebucht. Als ich dann fragte was mit den 2636 euro ist, wusste keiner was. Ich habe mich überall bei alamo gemeldet. Nun hatte ich über das chargeback Verfahren die ca. 2636€ zurück bekommen. Ab den Moment dachte, dass alles passt. Bin über check24 versichert und die waren dran die 684€ zurück zu überweisen. Nun muss ich feststellen, dass alamo WEITERE 688€ angebucht hat. Natürlich ist hier keine info geflossen. Eine 3 fache Abbuchung für einen schaden den ich, m.M.n. nicht gemacht habe, ist sehr unverschämt. Die in der Bewertung oft von alamo genannte schadensadresse die solche Probleme lösen sollte hat bei mir nicht funktioniert. Bisher, stand 06/26, ist die sache nicht geklärt und die letzte Abbuchung war heute, den 09.06.2026. Das zieht sich extrem und kostet Nerven.

    Although Alamo may offer competitive prices for car rentals, the level of customer service I experienced at London Stansted Airport was extremely disappointing. After this experience, I would personally rather pay more for a company that values customer support and clear communication. I had booked a premium vehicle and have previously used Alamo several times at different airports without any issues. However, upon arrival at Stansted, I was informed that I could not collect the car because of the type of card I presented. The terms and conditions only stated that a credit card was required, without clearly explaining the specific requirements or limitations. The wording was misleading and lacked important clarification. What made the situation even more stressful was that I was travelling with three children, and despite the circumstances, no genuine effort was made to assist us or find an alternative solution. Being left stranded at the airport with a family after a long journey is not the level of service I expected from an international rental company. As a returning customer, I expected far better communication, professionalism, and customer care. Unfortunately, the overall handling of the situation showed very little flexibility or understanding. I sincerely hope Alamo reviews both its policies and the way customers are treated in situations like this, so that others do not have to go through the same experience.

    UNBELIEVABLE: Alamo Stansted's Reckless Tyre Claim on a 9-Seater Van Ruined My Credit Score and Mortgage Plans! This is a warning about the utterly reckless and non-empathetic service at Alamo Car Rental (Stansted Airport), which operates alongside Enterprise. I was hit with an unjust £250 charge for an utterly absurd claim: "TREAD MELTED" on both rear tyres of a Ford Tourneo 9-seater van (RA #2HFCVR). I drove this vehicle for one day under normal conditions. As if I rented a sports car and was drifting—unbelievable that they would even file such a ridiculous claim on a heavy people-carrier! The only thing that saved me from a total financial nightmare was my last-minute decision to purchase an upgraded insurance policy, which prevented a minimum excess charge of at least £2,500. Thank God I did that, it truly saved me from a disaster. However, the company's reckless process still caused devastating financial harm. They took the unexpected £250 from my credit card account. As I wasn't expecting this payment to come out from my credit card account, the resulting shortfall led to me being charged interest plus a missing payment fee. This action has severely affected my credit score very badly, just before applying for a mortgage. Furthermore, I have detailed videos from before and after the rental. While these videos capture the bodywork and interior, I did not film the tyres. I have rented 50+ cars in my life and have never once filmed the tyres—who checks the tyres? It is completely unreasonable for the company to expect this level of detail to disprove an absurd claim they themselves cannot substantiate. This company is reckless and can't empathize with people or understand the devastating financial consequences their actions could lead to. They pursued an absurd, groundless claim and their billing process has directly jeopardized my ability to secure a home loan. Avoid Alamo Stansted at all costs.
