  Puncture repair carried out. unfortunately failed due half of the vulcanised disc not being glued. Poor workmanship I'm afraid to say!!!. The slow puncture resulting from the previous repair was presented again here at Gt Dunmow for repair and investigation, however the result was me being informed that a new tyre will be needed and none in stock at Gt Dunmow or Bishops Stortford Pro Tyre. I gave them the chance to rectify their error. Their depth of investigation was the pouring of soapy water (exterior) of the tyre exposing bubbles at the precise location of the repair carried out here at Protyre Gt Dunmow previously. When presenting the vehicle to a competent competitor to inspect this slow air release (puncture) upon removal of the tyre it was apparent that only "half" of the repair rubber disc inside had been previously glued resulting in escape of pressurised air. For safety reasons I had the tyre replaced. So yet another negative experience and there have been a few over the years, another time wasting and potential safety issue experienced when using this Pro Tyre location for repairs. My hopes are that this company audits this unit from the office to the workshop anon.

  If I could give more stars I would!! Yesterday, it was 31 degrees and I was one hour from home in Friday evening traffic on the A12 - my tyre pressure light came on and I panicked as I am not well versed in cars 😆 I arrived to the garage at 17:25 so just as the guys were closing and ready to go home - Jason insisted he would help me and checked all my tyres - opened up the shop and made sure I knew the levels/ what I should do and reassured me! Such a kind gesture and made me feel 1000x better AND the light went off! Thank you so much Jason

  Worst tyre experience ever! Charged £65 for a £47 quoted tyre, manager moaned about them shutting in 20mins, when it was actually 50mins later, fitter put 55psi in a tyre how da gerous!!! that should have 33psi max and removed tps sensor and replaced it with a standard rubber valve, tps system flashing fault had to pay a decent garage to replace. Avoid absolutely disgusting company! Will be reporting to trading standards.

  Avoid. What a fiasco using this branch. Booked my vehicle in for MOT a couple of weeks ago, took day of work and turned up slightly early. Unfortunately my vehicle wasn’t booked in and had the unpleasant experience of dealing with George. Went back in and asked if I left it there could they do it, which they agreed to do at 1pm. At 2.30pm they called to say the vehicle had failed due to engine light coming on. The car is regularly serviced and well looked after as well as being only 5 years old with low miles. I drove it there with no engine light whatsoever and it has never come on previously. I had arrived to inspect the car and George refused to give me the keys to my car as he said I had been rude on the phone (which I wasn’t, I was simply trying to get a straight answer from him regarding the car, which was increasingly difficult.) I got in the car and started it to see there was no light whatsoever. He got increasingly upset that I’d clearly called him out for what I perceived to be some sort of scam and essentially refused service from me so I left. If you actually want your car MOT’d do not use Protyre. George also said that if I had been nicer he would’ve passed it, how can you MOT a car on whether someone was nice to you or not. That’s also very dangerous considering if the car did have a real issue he may have passed it not being roadworthy. They clearly don’t have a clue what they are doing, just waste customers time, expecting them to pay for issues that weren’t there initially. I’ve read a few other reviews and George’s name comes up in basically every 1 star review so he’s clearly part of the appalling treatment of customers. Avoid at all costs.

  Had an appointment booked for 2:00 PM. Arrived 10 minutes early to be punctual. I sat in the waiting room for nearly an hour and a half, only to look out and see my car hadn't even been moved onto the ramps. Total lack of respect for customers' time. Had to cancel the job, request a refund, and take my business elsewhere. Avoid if you actually want your car worked on.
