- GNGene N.Aug 6, 20251.0A few scratches costed me almost £200. Stay away from this place. These associates really conduct extreme forensics on car rental returns. I am not sure if these people have incentives to find any scratches in any means. If you need to use the toilet, use it before getting there. These associates will keep you there for awhile. I will never use Alamo again.

- SRSpencer RutherfordJun 9, 20221.0The worst car renting experience I've ever had. I booked a car to drive out to Wales for the long weekend with my partner. Upon arriving they couldn't match my address to my name on their "internal system" and thus could not rent me the car. They refused to take any proof of address (claiming these are easily forged - despite having bank statements / council tax bills / etc) and claimed it had to be done "through their system". I had been living at the same property for 2 years. Left without the car and had to rent from somewhere else at considerable cost and stress. I did not receive a refund for my £50 deposit. I have since rented cars in the UK since and at every dealer I tell them this story; it doesn't seem this is the usual way of doing things or indeed even a standard policy, and in all likelihood they did not have the car available and lied about it. Avoid at all costs - will never rent from Alamo again.
