You’ll find our truck hire branch to the north of Edinburgh city centre on Dunedin Street, just off the B900. You’ll see our familiar orange logo on the side of the warehouse, just opposite our car park. You can return your hire truck to the branch 24/7.
We’ve got a great selection of vehicles that you can hire, such as an affordable hatchback or larger saloon or estate for getting around the cobbled streets of Edinburgh, or a premium 4x4 for driving into the Scottish countryside.
This branch also offers great extras, such as additional drivers and UK and Ireland recovery. We also offer a range of options for van hire in Edinburgh, such as delivery vans and transporters, which are great for moving house.

- DKDoris KMar 2, 20181.0The worst car rental I’ve ever experienced. Don’t let the price fool you. After completing the booking online and upon picking up the rental car (of which the Edinburgh City location wasn’t even publicaly accessible), we were turned away because we didn’t have a uk credit card- AFTER all our personal details and questions were asked of us during the online booking process, and money was taken from my debit card account. The online booking process mentioned no need for a local credit card, and had finalised our deposit online with a debit card. We were turned away (by an un-empathetic salesperson) inside the carpark, and told that if we do not have a credit card, the debit card amount can be refunded, but within a weeks time. Ridiculous. This was even after we offered to pay the deposit upfront with our debit card. Because we couldn’t access the public location I had to call the company to let us in. It’s a SCAM. The call cost me, as a local, £3.4 for a 20sec conversation to “let us in” because the only number you can call is an international one. Worst car rental company I’ve ever experienced, and I’m a world traveller that has had much experience over the world with car rentals. Customer service: 0/10. Online booking system: 0/10. Ease of access: 0/10. Ended up going to Avis down the street, that required no credit card, and gave us a car within 20 mins, with a free tank of fuel for our troubles. Credit to Avis in understanding the difficulty of dealing with companies like Sixt. Take your money elsewhere- where you get what you pay for, and safe travels friends!

By 4 pm, all I had received was an email stating that my reservation would be confirmed within 48 hours. When I called at 4pm to check, I was told that not only could I not return the vehicle out of hours, but that they also no longer had the vehicle I had booked, and that I would have to pay more for a larger one. Avoid.
