The check in was easy and friendly. After hours drop off was seamless and the next day they called to let me know everything was received and to ask if I had any issues or concerns. Great service Edinburgh Airport team!!

Very friendly good service from these guys, only slight downside was it cost £138 to take the car from Edinburgh to Aberdeen but again that was my choice

Overall, we had a very good experience with National Car Rental in Edinburgh. Picking up the car was easy and straightforward, and Josh was especially friendly and helpful. As first-time visitors to Edinburgh, we really appreciated him taking the time to answer our questions and make sure we were comfortable before heading out. He made a great first impression and helped get our trip off to a smooth start. We returned the car early in the morning before the rental counter opened so we could catch an early flight. National does provide a key drop box, which was convenient and made the early return possible. The only negative part of the experience was the person working in the parking area that morning of 10/2/26. When we asked a couple of simple questions about where to leave the car and how to handle the return, his customer-service technique seemed to consist almost entirely of pointing in a general direction and grunting. Getting an actual sentence out of him apparently was asking a bit too much. At 6am in the morning, when you're trying to return a rental car correctly, get your luggage organized, and make an international flight, that is exactly when a little clear guidance would be useful. Instead, the interaction added unnecessary stress to what should have been a very simple process. A basic level of friendliness and communication during after-hours returns would make a big difference. Aside from that one unfortunate interaction, everything went very smoothly, and we would happily use National in Edinburgh again.

Justin, who helped us was actually awesome. He was very informative and made sure that we had everything that we needed and got a car that we were comfortable in. He advised us of the best way to navigate to where we were going and overall was very friendly. He was great.

Good, quality customer experience is a lost art, but Will (the regional branch manager) is top-tier!! Check-in (at EDI) was great, the staff were all very friendly, the car was great, and drop-off was very easy at Heathrow (shuttle buses were running every couple of minutes). That said, I had a hiccup during my rental period. When Will reached out after I dropped off my rental checking in on how things went, I responded with honest feedback. I didn't think anyone would actually reply, but he did within the hour and took care of the situation without hesitation. I can't say I've ever experienced anything like this from a rental car company (or really any other company)! It was a breath of fresh air, and I truly look forward to renting with National Car at EDI or LHR in the future!
