Remember taking my first cars here 20+ years and thinking the setup was mustard.
Latest visit likely to be my last. Granted I was asking for trouble, a 3rd party booking (Asda Tyres) and on a Saturday morning…
Turned up at 9:50 for a 10-11 slot. Finally had my (2 x) tyres fitted and left at 12:45.
Upon arrival they struggled to find the booking. After eventually finding it, they then explained there is no tie-up between the Asda available slots and their diaries. So the booked slot is pie in the sky.
Then to compound the issue, one of their fitter’s had called in sick. Cue a waiting area full of customers getting increasingly impatient and no idea where they are in the queue (1 car in front or 6 cars in front - a simple white board visible behind the desk would help).
They eventually got them fitted and the desk staff and single fitter were under the kosh all day so I’m giving it 2 rather than 1 star.
But I can’t recall a single time I’ve ever been here and the service been quick. I don’t want to spend a 1/4 of my weekend reading classic jag magazines.

Let down by administration. Booked in online for 2 tyres, arrived for branch to have no record of the booking, not the first time it has happened but previously they have actually chased the booking, today they couldn't be bothered, passing nonsense excuses about the previous BH weekend and saying they were full, despite Pro tyre site still offering slots for that day. When queried, the desk looked up the tyres but wanted an to charge an extra £100 for them compared to what I had already paid.
Clearly a bit of a theme as while I was waiting they were unable to tell another customer if their booking would be 1 hour or 3, and another they didn't have both the tyres he had specifically called ahead to arrange.
Shame as have used before and no issue with the technician side of the business, but the office side isnt working.

Not sure what's happened to Pro Tyre lately but the customer service is non existent.....it takes forever for them to answer the phone. I wanted just two new tyres fitted to my motorcycle wheels, I am supplying the tyres (because PT don't sell them) and keeping the old ones so no disposal costs, £60! Takes all of what? 15 minutes? I've been coming here since the Gupa-P days for car and motorcycle tyres, i.e. nearly 40 years. Not any more.

Dreadful. Phoned up for Avon Cobra Chrome tyres for my bike. Took a very long time to answer and some halfwit told me they were not available as Avon tyres had closed down but some tyres still being made by someone else. But mine not available, Asked about alternatives and was told they did not have any!!!
Complete nonsense. The tyres are still being made and the brand is still very much alive under the parent Goodyear company. There are plenty of alternatives as well.
If they are too busy then just say so.
Don't just lie to your customers!! I am done with this company now, the service has been declinig for several years now. Ordered online now and will find a fitter.
I have 2 bikes and one car and they will not be having tyres from ProTyre again. 1 star
UPDATE: received phone call from Kyle new manager. Listened to me. Apologised for my experience. Also acknowledged the service had declined over recent years. They were the go to place for anyone needing motorbike tyres in the Plymouth area and I feel that priority has been given to cars for some time now.
So I will give the benefit of the doubt and try them again next time.
Upgraded to 3 stars 😉 we shall see 😁

Booked my car in for a gold service and MOT yesterday. I was told they would call me if it failed it's MOT and when to pick it up.
I didn't receive a call so attended the garage and it was closed! Leaving me without my car for the evening. Then after trying to call the garage the next morning, about 10 times to no answer, I attended in person, only to find my car had failed the MOT and they had no slots in this week to repair it. Leaving me without my car for the foreseeable. They didn't even call me in the morning to inform me of this.
In short, the communication was terrible and they were not helpful at all to rectify their error by getting me booked in to fix the faults and get a re-test. I will definitely not use this garage again.
