Booked in at 2pm on first day to be told they wouldn't have time to do them that day and to come back for opening on Monday morning. 2 hours later and my van hadn't been touched. I gave up and cancelled my order on black circles. Shocking how bad gates has become since protyre got involved. Called in at haven tyres as I was passing and booked in for the next day.
- MLMiguel LopesJun 7, 20261.0Do yourself a favour and stay well away from this MOT test centre. This was one of the most frustrating and disappointing experiences I’ve had with a garage. The standards were inconsistent, the communication was poor, and I was left questioning the accuracy of the inspection from start to finish. I was told that both sides of the vehicle were in the same condition regarding corrosion and rust treatment, which was clearly not true. I was also advised to replace both front and rear wheel bearings, despite only the rear bearing actually being seized. This resulted in unnecessary expense and wasted time. The final straw was the MOT failure itself. The vehicle was failed over an issue relating to the handbrake, yet after the test it was parked on an inclined surface. The reasoning simply did not add up and raised serious concerns about how the assessment was carried out. I trusted this garage to provide a fair and competent inspection. Instead, I left feeling misled, overcharged, and with very little confidence in their professionalism or technical judgement. I certainly won’t be returning, and I would strongly recommend that others seek a second opinion before agreeing to any major repairs or accepting the outcome of an inspection here.

But when I arrived at 1 pm on 23/05/2026 I was told that there would be a long delay, and they couldn't even tell me how long the delay would be. I explained that I had booked the car in yesterday for 1 pm today and the reception staff said there was nothing they could do about it and if I liked I could book the car in for monday 25/05/2026. I have no confidence the same would not happen again.Although one member of staff apologised other staff appeared totally unintersted. Obviously their pre-booking system does not work and I wasted my time and 2 trips to Lillyhall. I will not be using this company again
