  I booked through Enterprise's website on Sunday. Payment was taken instantly, a confirmation came through, and I finished online check-in — licence and card details submitted and accepted. I also bought excess waiver cover separately through a third-party provider. Pickup was set for 9am Monday at the Halifax branch. 30 minutes before, they called to say there was no car and the booking was cancelled. When I pushed back and asked how they could take a booking and full payment with no vehicle to offer, staff brushed it off, saying they were "just a local branch" and could do nothing about it. This cancelled other plans I'd built around the rental, and the third-party insurance money is gone. Three days on, I still haven't been refunded, and no compensation has been offered for the losses this caused. Take your money, take your details, cancel last minute, take zero responsibility. Avoid.

  TL;DR: Confirmed booking, full check-in, card and licence details taken — then cancelled 30 minutes before pickup with zero notice. 3 days later, still no refund. Third-party insurance wasted. Avoid. I booked and paid in full through Enterprise's own website on a Sunday. The system accepted the booking, took full payment, sent a confirmation email, and I completed full online check-in — card details and driving licence uploaded and accepted. I also paid separately for excess waiver insurance through a third-party provider to be fully covered. Pickup was booked for 9am Monday at the Halifax branch. Half an hour before, they called and said: no car available, your reservation is cancelled. That was it. When I called back and asked how a reservation could even be accepted, payment taken, and a card charged if they had no vehicle to give, the response was dismissive and unprofessional. They just repeated that they were "a local branch" and there was "nothing they could do." No acknowledgement that this should never have been allowed to happen in the first place. Because of this, other reservations I had planned around this car had to be cancelled. The excess waiver insurance I paid for separately is now completely wasted — Enterprise cannot cancel or refund a third-party policy, so that money is simply gone. It has now been three days. Still no refund for the rental. No compensation offered for the insurance or the other losses caused. Every contact just passes me around with no real answer. If you're considering Enterprise: they'll take your payment, your card details, your licence, and confirm your booking — and still cancel on you 30 minutes before pickup with no responsibility taken. Avoid.

  AVOID. VERY POORLY RUN. I recently hired a van to move house. I was moving on Monday. They rang me at 11.30 on Saturday (just before they closed for the weekend) to say they didn't have any vans available. Apparently it'll take up to 10 days to get my money back too!! Thanks for that Enterprise!!!! As if house moving isn't stressful enough. I see that the last review to this by Danny was exactly the same as mine. I also see that their response was total rubbish.... They should be telling him that they'll look at the system and make sure they never leave a customer stranded ever again.
