  Avoid Sixt — months of stress over a tiny scratch, zero flexibility. Rented a Corsa from Sixt Cambridge in April 2026. On return, they raised a damage report for a small scratch, charging £916 — independent mechanics quote £100-£200 to fix it. Months later (now July), still unresolved. No willingness to negotiate despite my independent estimates. The car wasn't properly inspected at pickup either, so there's no way to confirm the mark wasn't pre-existing. I even offered to have the car back to repair it myself and return it — declined. Raised a complaint with the BVRLA — no help. Now told any independent report must come from a manufacturer-approved garage, costing more than the damage itself. Meanwhile being threatened with debt collection despite the charge being actively disputed. Disproportionate and frustrating. Photograph every inch of the car at pickup and drop-off if you rent here.

  Excellent service from start to end from Lewis. I walked in without a reservation and got the keys to a magnificent Audi Q3. Paperwork was absolutely minimal. Thanks to full insurance I could drive and drop the car at night with no worries. Great experience.

  AVOID. Assume they will rip you off. They hit me with two additional charges, and when I queried them (each taking over 20 minutes) they couldn't say why. They promised to look into it and get back, but after three days, still no word, but the charges remain. Then they tried to claim I scratched a wheel. Luckily I took a detailed video so I was able to contest it, but it was a total faff, and wasted over an hour of my time. My advice: go over the car with a fine toothcomb, photo/video the whole car and especially anything that could be a scratch etc they could charge you for. Don't pick it up out of hours. Despicable customer service. Appalling company.

  Total thieves. Keep erroneously charging my card. Call them up and you waste over half an hour (international call) and get nowhere. Charged me because I returned it an hour early. Also charged me to pick it up because no one would be working there at the time. Hopeless customer service. AVOID. Addition: Now they have charged me for a scratch I was not responsible for - thankfully I had detailed photos from when I picked it up so I can dispute it, but another instance of their poor service and scam tactics.
