  If you need help, don’t go to Tesco I arrived at this Tesco petrol station shortly before 9pm with almost no fuel left. I knew they switched to pay-at-pump from 9pm, so I made sure I got there before then, arriving at around 20:55 and reaching the pump at around 20:57. Unfortunately, the system had already been switched over early. I did not have my card with me, which was poor planning on my part, but I had been delayed in traffic and was genuinely stuck. I explained to the staff that I had no fuel left and asked if there was anything they could do to help. I was simply told the switch-over was automatic, they could not help me, and I should go to another petrol station. I explained that I did not think I could make it, but still no help was offered. What made the experience worse was that, when another colleague returned, the staff appeared to look over at me and laugh. I accept they may not have been talking about me, but given the situation, it certainly felt like they were making light of it. I was forced to try another petrol station, but broke down on the way because I had run out of fuel and had to wait for recovery. This could have been avoided if the station had not switched over before 9pm, or if the staff had shown even a small amount of willingness to help. I understand processes and systems exist, but basic customer care matters too. I will be buying my fuel elsewhere in future.

  Filled up with petrol today, served by a miserable lady on he till. I tried paying contactless but card asked for it to be inserted and put my pin in, tried several times but no luck. She said you will have to get someone here to pay for it, I said I doubt I can get anybody as people are at working. Her miserable face was like, well you need to sort it and did not offer any solutions or show empathy that I was in this position. I had got bag of chocolate and said I won't have these now, so she asked me to put it back, I think that's her job! So I threw them back on the shelf. Customer service here has a common theme there isn't any, staff seem either unhappy with their job or just simply unhappy people. I won't be returning here and Tescos sort your stuff out.
