  I had a very poor experience with Enterprise and therefore can not recommend them. I hired a van for a one way hire which was modern, clean and easy to drive. On return of the vehicle to the return location a member of staff highlighted a small dent in the roof which was apparently not recorded on their system. I was sure the damage had not been caused during my hire but I was told it was probably insignificant and only a formality so thought nothing more of it. Several days later I was told by the branch manager that the damage was not an issue, my contract closed and my deposit was returned. A few days later I was notified that Enterprise had attempted to take £500 from my card. This was without my consent and with no prior communication. To my understanding it was a breach of GDPR as they should have deleted my card details after the contract was closed. I followed up with the branch manager who seemed clueless to why the attempt was made. I then complained to head office. Several emails back and forth later it transpired that head office wanted to charge me over £2000 for the damage and sent me an invoice. This was in direct contradiction to what I was told twice by the branch manager. Fortunately my wife had taken photos of the van prior to our hire and we were therefore able to prove the damage existed before our hire period. Enterprise subsequently dropped the charge however the whole experience highlighted poor communication, poor record keeping, a predatory approach to damage disputes and ultimately no respect for the customer.

  I've rented a car via Enterprise - Bath branch during our holidays in the Cotswolds and South Wales. The experience was pleasant and very professional. The staff who helped us on pickup and return were vere friendly. All went smooth. On Sunday the office opened up before 11am so we could catch our return bus to London. 100 % satified.

  Lost my £1750 deposit for a 2mm windscreen chip in an 'A' zone on the driver's side by the windscreen wiper. I didn't experience any stones flicking up during the rental and suspect this was a chip that was missed by the staff member (and me) during the speedy morning walkaround. The return inspection lasted 15 minutes (three times as long). 'That's why you should pay for the damage waiver' I was told. To cover questionable damage from previous renters I guess?? I also enquired about delaying my return of the vehicle, but was told that staff members would be gone by 6.15pm and the latest I could delay is 15 mins (I was told I could return the vehicle the following morning, but this was impractical as I live 2 hours away). I subsequently hurried to return the vehicle for 6.15pm and incurred the fuel charge (as I didn't have time to refuel). On arrival the staff member that checked the vehicle back in said there was no hurry, as he was working til 9pm. 🤷‍♂️🤬. Not happy. I'll be renting elsewhere in future

  Car hire was arranged for us while our car is with the garage. Enterprise called at 14.00 and promised a further call by 18.00 with arrangements for collection. No call came and we lost the money on our tickets for a performance in the evening and we were not able to get to work further costing us annual leave and very unhappy employers. Have tried ringing three times this morning letting it ring 50 times. You can tell the call has just been diverted rather than answered. If Enterprises had called to say they had a problem, we could have taken an Uber.

  We have just been charged a damage fee 51/2 months after a 3 day car hire in January 2026. It was due to a smell in the car that was already there when we picked the car up in Cardiff, and we had reported it to the company. The Bath consultant agreed with us that it had not been fit for rental to us in the first place, now we have been charged for it but we didn’t cause it! Thanks for the message Nellie, your link takes me to the US website. My review is relating to the office in Bath, England, in the United Kingdom and I cannot see how to interact with that office through the US website. We have responded to the claims email we received, Is there a direct email address for that office?
