Auto Aid is not only a certified Intoxalock installer, they are a complete auto shop. I rate them(my experience) 5⭐ because it was pleasant from the very start. I overslept my appt, and they still did my install. I was given a window of 2-4 hours time frame it would take, they had my vehicle ready in 2 hours. They were fast, courteous, and friendly. They are very knowledgeable of the services they provide. I would trust them, rely on them to perform any task my vehicle needed done. On to the product. I have been the D.D. for friends on occasion and as such, had to "blow" for them. The Intoxalock, though I couldn't grasp it at first(even have to get it serviced because I couldn't get it right after I left the shop). Mrs. Julie explained it perfectly to me and I have not had a problem since. My only dislike about it is that on the other devices I used for friends before, I would only have to blow, to start, maybe a few minutes later, or like half an hour later... basically 1-3 times per trip. The Intoxalock has me blowing every twenty minutes almost like clockwork.

Frequently Asked Questions About Intoxalock Ignition Interlock

How does an interlock device work?

An ignition interlock device (IID) is a small breathalyzer installed in your vehicle to prevent it from starting if alcohol is detected on your breath. Before driving, you'll blow into the device. If your breath alcohol concentration (BrAC) is below the programmed limit, the car starts. Periodic retests occur during your trip to ensure continued compliance. What is the cost of an ignition interlock device?

The installation of an ignition interlock device, often called a car breathalyzer, typically costs between $70 and $150. This one-time fee is paid at the start of your lease and covers the service center's labor to install the device in your vehicle. Payment is made directly to the service center at the time of installation. For more on cost breakdowns, you can read our cost of ignition interlock device guide.
