- NANasir AliAug 15, 20251.0I drove in just to get my battery checked. They plugged in the detection kit (to test the battery, alternator and starter). They sent a teenager for the test. She ran a diagnostic and suddenly smoke came out of the engine area while it was still plugged in, and next thing i know the car won't start. We had to call the mechanic, he wasn't sure and finally we had to tow the vehicle to a repair center. The car was found to have a blown starter. We ended up paying 450 for replacing the starter and for towing. The sad part is that the car was running perfectly and we just came in to test the battery's condition. I know that accidents do happen and can happen but this Advance Auto Parts didn't help us with anything. They didn't share any of the responsibility of the damages and didn't offer any sort of compensation. I would definitely not recommend this place to anyone.

Had to reach over her food in order to pay for items purchaed. Thought that was gross. She could have stuck her food under counter when we walked up. What is wrong with ppl? Did did items wanted quickly and got out of there. Was going to say something about hwr food on counter but whats the point anymore? If she had cared she would have moved it when we walked up to counter. Come on what is going on with workers today? Absolutely ridiculous. Get your food off the damn counter when a paying customer walks uo to counter...at least move it to the side. Dont leave it in middle of counter. Just to reiterate....ridiculous!

Brakes work by using friction to turn kinetic energy into heat. There are two designs: drum brakes (older), and disc brakes (newer). Both use hydraulic pressure to move a piston outward. In disc brakes, the piston is located inside a caliper that houses brake pads and fits over the rotor. The friction lining on the pads makes contact with the rotor to slow the vehicle.
