- TNTeara NonchalantMar 22, 20261.0Purchased some ignition coils & spark plugs from Advance auto part at this location. Mechanic charged me $300 to take the to take the old parts off and put on the new parts. After he was finished the car started running like a freight train couldn't even drive it. Mechanic scanned the check engine light with a diagnostic tool and it showed misfire on all 6 cylinders. Charged me again to take everything off. He already new the problem was the ignition coils because they came from Advance Auto. He left the spark plugs in and put the old ignition coils back in and the car ran so so smooth. I called advance to get a refund and they said no that it was something else wrong with the vehicle. I told him no just the ignition coils yall sold me aren't any good. All they offered was a replacement which mean I would have to pay the mechanic to put them in again and chance them not working properly. DO NOT BUY PARTS FROM ADVANCE!!!!

He asked me for the model of my car 4 times & 4 times I told him A.L.T.I.M.A he proceeded to tell me that he couldn't find the correct parts for my car because he needed to know what model my car is... I drive a 2007 Nissan Altima: year, make, model. I was fully intending to leave a 1 star review bc 0 isn't an option. I decided to come back one more time in hopes to talk to someone else... thankfully I did bc Herschell was working & as soon as I told him the year, make, & model of my car he had no issues helping me!! Came back a 3rd time & met the manager Christina (she's great!!) & she had no issues helping me either. Now I will only come in if I call ahead & one of them is working!! That red headed kid tho, avoid him!! He doesn't know what he's doing & has horrible customer service!!

Brakes work by using friction to turn kinetic energy into heat. There are two designs: drum brakes (older), and disc brakes (newer). Both use hydraulic pressure to move a piston outward. In disc brakes, the piston is located inside a caliper that houses brake pads and fits over the rotor. The friction lining on the pads makes contact with the rotor to slow the vehicle. In drum brakes, the piston moves two curved shoes lined with friction material against the inside of the brake drum.
