Good customer service. Went above and beyond to get parts for my car. BUT! They didn’t do a good job replacing my brakes. I let them know I had to travel from Savannah to Charlotte. I made it an hour out and the brakes malfunctioned and eventually gave out on the freeway. Thank God I was able to maneuver the car to a near lot. On the bright side, once I arrived in Charlotte, I was able to call another Mavis and they corrected the mistakes.

THIS PLACE IS A BLATANT SCAM!!! IF YOU DO NOT WANT TO BE SCAMMED, GO ELSEWHERE. I came here on 1/06/26 with my 2006 Toyota Sienna for a brake inspection. When I came in, I told them I probably needed new pads on front and back because I hadn’t had them changed in a while and was concerned about audible squeaking. After a bit, I was contacted by the front desk on behalf of the technician informing me that nothing was wrong with my brakes. The pads were fine and I might’ve just needed a brake flush to “help with the sponge feeling. This wasn’t a concern I had when I brought it in, but I was quoted only about 110 or so dollars to correct the issue, so I agreed. After about 30 minutes, I was contacted by another person, I think the manager, who had a completely different attitude and story. He began to inform me that the technician was actually wrong, and when he went to inspect my car himself he found that my entire system was apparently falling apart. He said something like “when I went to wipe some dirt off, things just started breaking”. He then quoted me for a full brake rebuild, pads, rotors, calipers, and hoses. He quoted me 1,441 dollars for the full service. When I declined the service, he immediately asked me about my credit, saying that Mavis offers financing. I again declined. He continued to pressure me, saying he was worried for my safety, and that my driver’s front side could actually lock up at any moment. I decided to risk it because I couldn’t afford this price. When I came to pick up the vehicle, he reiterated that I needed to be careful and my brakes could lock up at any moment. I took this to a nearby mechanic shop in the same town. The people there inspected it, and concurred with the initial mechanic’s assessment that my brakes were fine. He stated they were dirty, covered in mud, but the pads and components were in perfect condition. He quoted me a cleaning and reassembly for just over a hundred, and I’ve been driving it for over a month after with absolutely no issues. Looking back, I feel as though the manager at this Mavis was trying to scam me along legal lines. He saw my ignorance (I wasn’t aware my back brakes didn’t even have pads, just drums) as an opportunity for profit, and used extortion and fear tactics to try and run the bill up on me. I imagine even if I had agreed to this “full rebuild” he was quoting, I would have simply received a cleaning as the other place had done so they could keep their profit margins high. This is disingenuous at its core. Bottom line? I’m concerned for everyone that has patronized this place. They may have taken advantage of your fear and your financial position to make maximum profit from you, as they tried to do with me. PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE GET A SECOND OPINION IF YOU COME HERE, AND SAY NO TO THEIR “FINANCING”.
