  Wheeew, I normally use U-haul. I should've this time. I moved into a new apartment 2/13 and placed the reservation a week (maybe 2) in advance for a 12 footer. I received a free upgrade to a 16' with a ramp a few days before pick-up due to a 12' truck supposedly not being available on pick-up day. I got a little excited when the sales rep said that it would be a bit cheaper. I didn't stop to think that it was cheaper because I chose to stay with the milage I originally had with the smaller unit instead of the milage that comes with the larger truck. No biggies though. Ya'll! Everything was fine UNTIL they told me that the deposit was $376!!! Now in the paperwork, there was a notice for a deposit of up to 150% of the total cost but I thought maybe $150 or $200 at the most. Cool. In total, I paid $500 as the deposit which included the amount owed that would be refunded after check-out. IF I DIDN'T NEED A TRUCK THAT DAY, I WOULD HAVE DECLINED IT. That's RIDICULOUS!! I only reserved it for one day and was allotted 75 miles and would be charged a gas fee if I didn't refill the gas back to its original spot. I didn't drive the full 75 miles (only 71), so I got back a few bucks. The truck was clean, drove well, and the staff at Home Depot were great checking me in and checking me out. My amount owed ($124) was WITHOUT any optional insurance, extra tools and gadgets, and personal property protection. Maybe it was just that location that I rented from at the Home Depot in Newnan, but I'll never rent with them again solely due to the deposit. The best part, as is with all refunds, is that I have to wait a few days to get my money back instead of as instantaneously as it was taken 🙃. Hooray!

  Would highly recommend for anyone needing a moving vehicle. More affordable rate compared to Uhaul. Penske charges .59 cents per mile rather than .79 cents like Uhaul charges. Plus the rental time is for 24 hours rather than the limited time period offered by Uhaul. I rented a 16 box truck for moving within the city (> 40 miles) and only paid $60 total. They do require a $150 security deposit up front but this amount is refunded once the vehicle is returned. No complaints!
