This company took six weeks to complete moderate repairs after a 20 mph accident because they were unable to order the correct parts. Their poor workmanship and lack of attention to detail has now caused a massive issue with my son’s car including an oil pressure light that comes on every time you drive more than 20 miles, putting the car into limp mode and making it undrivable. Because of this, we have had the car towed numerous times from all over - Hartsfield Jackson, Hogansville, Sharpsburg, Newnan back to Gerber and they assured us every time that this was fixed, only to pick it up, drive it about 20 miles and end up stranded. Clearly it has never been fixed and we have spent more than the original deductible just in towing cars back to people who don’t know what they’re doing. The last time they “had to replace transmission lines” to fix it. I’m no mechanic, but how do transmission lines have anything to do with oil pressure? Yet this is their explanation. What we do know is that the car never did this before the accident, and only started doing this since we picked it up from Gerber. There is no reason for a four year old car with 64,000 miles to have experienced five different episodes of limp mode to be towed five times since we picked up the car. They are clearly responsible for causing this and not returning the car to the original condition, which makes me wonder if I need a lawyer. Instead, they simply shrug their shoulders and don’t really care about the astronomical inconvenience, cost, inefficiency, and substandard service. In our opinion, it seems like they just got their insurance money, and that is all that mattered. I would think long and hard before ever trusting this company with your vehicle if it’s been in an accident because you’ll get it back and it will never be the same, causing you time, headaches, money, and diminished value.
UPDATE: The car was taken to an independent mechanic in another city and they discovered that you installed the wrong computer into the car which was causing all of the errors. Not only was the part you installed an allegedly incorrect part for this car, but you also told us and the insurance it was a new part when, in fact, it was a reconditioned part as verified by the independent mechanic, allegedly of course. It was at this point that the insurer threw their hands in the air and refused to deal with this claim any further. This left us no choice but to trade the car in as is and we lost significant equity in the trade because it was your errors that negatively impacted the car’s value in the trade. We did not and would not feel comfortable trusting you to do anything with our car when it was your errors that cost us thousands and four months of not having our car for an accident that affected only the front quarter panel at 10-15 miles per hour.
Again, I would seriously contemplate bringing your car here if it’s ever been in an accident. You don’t know what parts you’re getting, when you will get your car back, or if your car will ever be in the same condition before the accident. If others have more favorable experiences, then I wish you all well.
