On the last day of the 1720 mile trip with my brother-in-law riding as co-pilot, a new jolt of reality hits me when I accidentally ran over a big scrap of semi tire tread on I-75 going about 70 miles per hour. I saw in the rear view mirror that the tread rolled out from the back, so it looked like it cleared everything okay, but we could still hear something making a noise under my car. Gauges were all good, no warning lights, but to be safe, we got off at the next exit and saw that something was dragging and flapping under the engine compartment between my front wheels. Decided we need a professional to take a look at it and couldn't believe our luck to find Mavis Tires open nearby on a Sunday!!! BLESSING #1 Drove to Mavis and explained the situation to Mike. Within 5 minutes he had a service tech put my car up on a hoist to check underneath. Thank God the service tech found no serious damage and only a piece of felt insulation/noise barrier torn away from the engine compartment and hanging down - he was able to just cut it off and we were good to go. BLESSING #2 Called up front to the service counter and the shop manager handed me the keys and said "NO CHARGE!!!" BLESSING #3 Well, I wasn't going to let these awesome guys be so efficient and gracious without paying them something, so both my brother-in-law and I tipped the tech and shop manager for providing such unbelievable great service and genuine caring about our situation. If you live in the Atlanta area and need service, give this shop a call. Thanks again to Mike and the shop team for taking such great care of me!!! MUCH APPRECIATED!!! 🙏
