WOMEN BE WEARY…I’ve been telling my mom this place charges way too much, today she asked for wiper blades while she had an oil change… the blades cost $25 a piece (not too bad) the price to install them was $25.32 EACH. a simple oil change turned into an almost $200 bill after shop fees… they did throw her $60 in discounts on her receipt but i still feel like even with a discount they ripped her off ):

I went in feeling stressed because my car suddenly stopped working, and I had no idea what was going with it. It was my first time going there , and everyone was very helpful, taking their time to explain what was wrong with my car and what needed to be done. Thank you so much again for your help. I definitely will be coming back.

Really wanted to like this place because we had used the tire discounters in Athens and always had good experience, but this site in Monroe is a stark difference. Have had several issues with both our cars that we have had to take back on multiple occasions for work that should have been fixed correctly the first go around. The other main issue I have with this place is the fact that they never call to give updates, let us know when our cars were done, none at all. We have had to call up there every single time we needed to get an update because they will keep our car for multiple days otherwise. This has resulted in us having to miss work, pay for Ubers to get our cars, and miss other appointments, so these persistent issues will be why we will be taking our business elsewhere. We have escalated this up to corporate to seek resolution. I would recommend finding another local mechanic if you can help it.

Nearly $2000 lost and STILL have an unsuccessful repair I have never experienced such poor business practices and lack of communication. My husband and I previously used another location within this same company and had great experiences, which is why we trusted this Monroe location—but unfortunately this location is DRASTICALLY different. We have brought my car in three times over the past 3½ weeks for the exact same issue, and it is still not fixed. Each time, we were told the problem was resolved, only to continue experiencing the same issue immediately after. My car is still shuddering when I turn it on and check engine light continues to come on. Because the problem remains unresolved, I requested a full refund and asked them not to attempt a third repair. Instead, I wanted to pick up my vehicle and take it elsewhere. They agreed to refund only the second repair, but not the first—despite the fact that the original issue has never been fixed. This is completely unacceptable. If they truly stand behind their work, as they claim, then a full refund should be provided when the issue remains unresolved after multiple attempts. In addition to the failed repairs, their communication has been extremely poor. Unlike the Athens location, which consistently provided updates, explanations, and timelines, this Monroe location rarely communicates at all. They kept my vehicle for days at a time without any updates, leaving us completely in the dark. And I am not just talking about this issue, this has also happened with my husband’s car and we ALSO had to take his back after before as well. We chalked that up to potentially a faulty part as they said, but I have zero confidence now that was true. This situation has caused significant inconvenience and expense, including arranging alternative transportation, paying for rides to retrieve our vehicle, and losing both time and money. Most importantly, we have lost all trust in this establishment. At this point, I expect a refund for both repair attempts related to this unresolved issue/unsuccessful repair. I will also be escalating this matter to corporate and filing a complaint with the Better Business Bureau.

Part I : This is now the second time—and the second vehicle—we’ve brought to Bulldog Tire Discounters in Monroe, GA for a simple service, only to be told there are multiple additional issues that “need attention.” About six months ago, we brought in our truck and had a similar experience. This past weekend, we took our Honda in for a routine oil change. What should have been a straightforward visit turned into something much more frustrating. We received a call saying there was “copper in the brake fluid” and that it needed to be flushed, based on a parts-per-million test that was performed without our request or prior discussion. I had never heard of this type of test before, but at the time I trusted their expertise and approved the service. After the call, I did some research and spoke with others, and everything I found suggested that this type of upsell is questionable at best. That added service alone cost over $200, turning what should have been a $125 oil change into a $286 visit. To make matters worse, since leaving the shop, my tire pressure warning light keeps coming on—something that was not an issue before the visit. I noticed they checked the tire pressure while the car was there, so now I’m left wondering if something was mishandled during service. At this point, it feels less like customer care and more like a pattern of upselling unnecessary services. I expect transparency and honesty when bringing my vehicles in for maintenance, and unfortunately, that has not been my experience here—twice now. I won’t be returning. Part II - now less than three days later and the skid plate IS GONE. And the front of the skid plate that remained is hanging down and scraping the ground. You all have caused so much more damage than if you would have just done the simple oil change. Part III: 04/04 Beyond extremely disappointed. After picking up my car again (3 saturdays in a row) this afternoon, we got it home and discovered that not one, not two, but four bolts are missing from the skid plate. Instead of being properly secured, it has been zip-tied on, which is completely unacceptable. This is not a proper or safe repair, and it raises serious concerns about the quality of work performed. There is even at least one mounting point with neither a bolt nor a zip tie, which makes it clear the job was left incomplete. At this point, I have no interest in returning to your “family-owned” establishment. I am requesting a full refund so I can take my vehicle elsewhere to have it repaired correctly—not pieced together with temporary fixes. All this, 3 Saturdays in a row for a simple oil change. Less than impressed. PART IV 04/10/2026 ; reached out to general manager who was working with us to advise the experience from last weekend - zip ties and all and BIG shock. NO response at all what so ever. side note : its worth mentioning these folks own all the bulldog tires, the hometown tire in monroe and many other locations under different names. CUSTOMER BEWARE
