I’m really disappointed with my experience at Mavis Tires & Brakes. I brought my car in because it was spongy pedal while braking, and after their inspection, they told me I needed a brake booster replacement. They made it sound urgent and quoted me a very expensive repair. Something didn’t sit right with me, so I decided to get a second opinion at another local shop. After checking the vehicle thoroughly, they told me there was absolutely nothing wrong with the brake booster. The real issue was just worn brake pads and rotors — a much more routine and affordable repair. It’s frustrating to feel like you’re being pushed into an unnecessary major repair. Whether it was a misdiagnosis or an attempt to upsell, it completely broke my trust. I can’t recommend this location based on my experience. Always get a second opinion before agreeing to costly repairs. This was on Jan 2, 2026

At the end of October 2025, I brought my vehicle in for what I believed would be a complimentary tire rotation. However, upon leaving the shop, the dashboard illuminated with multiple warning lights, including check engine, tire pressure, ABS, and brake lights. When I returned to Mavis for assistance, the staff expressed uncertainty about the issue and cleared the warnings. Regrettably, the lights reappeared shortly thereafter. Subsequently, I sought help from another shop where a diagnostic revealed a faulty speed switch sensor. Despite replacing it, the warning lights persisted. After two months in the shop, we discovered that one of my tires was incorrectly sized(MAVIS installed incorrectly 2025)—an issue that poses significant safety risks as highlighted on your company’s website. I did communicate with the regional manager who offered to cover the cost of a new tire but declined to take responsibility for the additional costs incurred during this period. I found this response surprising given the gravity of the situation and your company's stated commitment to safety. Throughout this ordeal, my primary concern has been the lack of empathy and accountability exhibited by your regional manager. The dismissive attitude towards an issue that endangered lives is particularly disheartening. So now I'm out of a free tire rotation and unnecessary expenses. AVOID at ALL COSTS!

The girl at the desk is very rude and unprofessional and the techs are incompetent and can't seem to do their job correctly and one of the techs is stealing small items off and out of customers cars. I will not be using them again and would not recommend using them to anyone else. I dropped my truck off here to get 4 tires installed and an alignment and when I went to pick it up the alignment tech said there was play in my steering but he got it aligned so I paid for it and left. I checked the steering when I got in the truck and there is absolutely no play at all in my steering .I used to work as a technician and have years of experience in tires, alignments, steering and suspension work so I know how to check for play in the steering. Then I drove off down the road to get gas and noticed the steering wheel was very crooked (about 45° to the left) so I took it back and told them it wasn't right and that I have no play in my steering. I was also missing a center cap from one of my wheels and one of their techs stole a sunglasses clip off of my visor as well that was there when I dropped the truck off. They gave me my center cap back when I told them about it and knew exactly where it was like someone was trying to keep it for themselves. I never told them about the visor clip because i wasnt really worried about it as much as the center cap. Then i talked to the alignment tech and he insisted that there was play in my steering but never offered to show me the play he was talking about (probably because there isn't any) and said my alignment was way off before. I told him I know because I had to replace my tie rod ends before I brought it in and it threw the alignment off so thats why I wanted it done. Then he said he'd pull it back in and see what he could do so he put it on the lift and made some more adjustments and after I left the steering wheel was almost straight but still slightly crooked and its also pulling to the right as well but they were closing when I left this time so I called them back a couple of days later and the guy who answered the phone told me to bring it back today because there would be 2 alignment techs working. I bring the truck back to them around 9:30 in the morning and the lady at the desk tells me the alignment tech won't be there until 11 and that I could wait on him but he aligned it twice already and pretty much acted like they didnt want to do it again to fix it. Then I asked if there was a corporate number or supervisor I could call and was going to tell her I just wanted to try to get a refund so I could take it somewhere else but before I could finish talking she rudely interrupted me and said "Im a supervisor what you want" and then said he already aligned it twice and she knows it got done then i told her it might have gotten done but wasnt done correctly because it pulls to the right when you let go of the steering wheel and then she said would just give me a refund because she wasn't gonna argue with me when I wasn't even arguing I was just telling her the problems I had with the alignment she was the one who got very rude and aggressive when I asked for a supervisors number and started trying to argue with me.
