- JTJasmine ThompsonNov 26, 20251.0I placed an order at 3:30PM EST. I had not received an update on my order so I went to the store around 5:15 to get the order. When I walked in I was not greeted. When an associate finally came to the counter they advised me that they didn’t have what I needed and cancelled my order. I told the associate I needed proof of cancellation as the only email I received was an order confirmation and the link to check the status of my order still said in process and not cancelled. The associate told me she could not provide me with proof of cancellation. I remained in the store and said I needed a voided receipt or cancellation email. For 30 minutes associates walked around me and did not speak to me at all. Another associate finally walked up to the counter and asked me my name. He then typed my name in the system and left. 5 minutes later he came back with the battery I requested online that I was just previously told my an employee that they did not have. After I return my old battery for the refund of my core part, I will not be using this store again. This is my second battery I have purchased from them with my first being in July for my other car and I faced issues with them in getting a refund for my core part as they advised their system wouldn’t allow them to refund me. This is deplorable business practices and I just can’t justify continually spending my money with a business where service is not of the upmost, especially when it comes to something so valuable as car parts.

Both were incredibly helpful, polite and genuinely happy to assist me. I stopped in to have a battery tested and ended up purchasing and replacing my battery with theyre help. They were one of the best customer service experiences I’ve ever had! I think I was in and out inside of ten minutes. Thanks for helping me today!

Does Advance Auto test and install batteries?
Yes we do offer free battery installation on most products with purchase. We will also recycle and test your battery for free regardless if you bought it from us. Battery testing and installation is available at most of our locations.
How long do car batteries last?
Typically a car battery will last 2-5 years, with premium batteries lasting 5-6 years. But you should replace it every 4 years for safe measures if you want to avoid any unwanted problems.
What are the signs of a bad car battery?
Signs of a bad car battery can range from the need for frequent jump starts, slow to start, cranks or clicks but won't start, dash lights work but the vehicle won't start, etc.
How much does a car battery cost?
A traditional lead/acid car battery can range between $60-$120. The difference in cost comes from a variety of things, like the size of the vehicle or any special requirements needed from the battery, i.e. an increased resistant to cold or hot climates. The type of battery also has an affect on the price whether it be a lead/acid, calcium, lithium-ion, deep-cycle.
HOW DO BRAKES WORK?

Brakes work by using friction to turn kinetic energy into heat. There are two designs: drum brakes (older), and disc brakes (newer). Both use hydraulic pressure to move a piston outward. In disc brakes, the piston is located inside a caliper that houses brake pads and fits over the rotor. The friction lining on the pads makes contact with the rotor to slow the vehicle. In drum brakes, the piston moves two curved shoes lined with friction material against the inside of the brake drum.
