  We arrived early this morning. We ate breakfast at Hog and bones down the street and they had a diagnostics. Five stars for being the best.

  Day 2133 Tuesday, October 21, 2025 I am grateful for some great people at a great business. Last week I suddenly noticed that my van was making some weird noises, not engine noises, but something underneath it, every time I turned the car. Tammie listened to it, and opined that it was undoubtedly the brakes, and urged me not to drive it until we could get them fixed. Well, I went to church Sunday, anyway, 40 miles each way, because there's only one turn, and I didnt want to miss. But I was nervous. I didnt touch it Monday. We finally got an appointment for it at 9 am today at Mavis Tires and Brakes in Jesup. I was, of course, worried. Brakes are expensive. We dropped it off and I made breakfast for us and was washing dishes when they called. Tammie answered the phone because my hands were wet. I soon heard her cracking up. Laughing. The brakes and pads were fine. But a long stick had gotten lodged up against the inside of the undercarriage and was scraping every time I turned. And it was invisible from the outside. We went to pick up the van. No charge. AND they saved the stick to show us. One end had been ground so smooth and sharp it looked as if it had been carved and sanded. But here's the real thing. I don't know anything about cars. If they had told me the brakes needed replacing, I'd have let them do it, no questions asked. But they didn't. And they could have charged me for checking the brakes after they removed the stick, which they did, and for assuring me that everything is fine. But they didn't. So of course I bought some goodies from Mama Peggy’s Sweet Tooth , wrote a thank you note, and sent Tammie to deliver them, since I'm working at the bakery all afternoon. Yes, I'm grateful. And we all got a good laugh, too! So if you're near Jesup and DO need brakes or tires...Mavis is the place to go! They won't rip you off. They are friendly and honest..a great combination!

  The garage was empty. I needed two tires replaced, and sat in the waiting area alone. For over two hours I waited as other customers arrived and left with new tires, struts, or brakes. Whatever I did, or didn't do, I did not deserve quick service, or even good service seeing as two days later I noticed one of my new tires was loosing air from the valve stem. If you live in Jesup, but you can limp your vehicle somewhere else, save yourself.

  I had new tires installed on new wheels. Shawn and Clyde got me taken care of. They were very professional and mindful. They recommended that I have one of their better tire techs do the job. The tire tech did a excellent job not to damage the face of the wheel but their tire machine did leave indentation/gouges to the inside of the barrel of each wheel at 4 corners. I recommend Mavis gets proper equipment so this doesn't happen again. Looking forward to being a repeat customer if they can prevent future damage like this. The damage doesn't appear to be structural so I just put touch up paint on it.

  If I could rate this place a 0 I would! I went to get my tire replaced here as I’m driving home I realize they did not change the tire that was flat they changed a tire that was perfect! When I called they knew they made the mistake and said to come back in! I drove another 20 minutes back with my kids and after getting there I watch the mechanic start to laugh while they explain he didn’t even change the correct tire! I would never recommend this place and I will never return
