- LDLil dawgOct 12, 20255.0Exceptionally fast service informative staff I came in. I was about to order some spark plugs that were almost triple the price of what I need it for my car. It was instantly helped out by the staff. They was doing a little inventory when I walked in, but they Acknowledged and greeted me wonderful wonderful service if you need something for your car, advanced auto Garden City is the place to go. Auto zone was just ready to throw parts at it and I waited in the store for over a hr never even got a welcome these guys aren’t paid enough.

The gentleman who helped is was Christopher. He apparently lives in Richmond Hill and rather than wait for the battery to get in in a couple of days, Christopher said he'd pick it up on his way home and we could pick it up first thing in the morning. We were so appreciative of Christopher's outstanding service!

Typically a car battery will last 2-5 years, with premium batteries lasting 5-6 years. But you should replace it every 4 years for safe measures if you want to avoid any unwanted problems.

Signs of a bad car battery can range from the need for frequent jump starts, slow to start, cranks or clicks but won't start, dash lights work but the vehicle won't start, etc.

Brakes work by using friction to turn kinetic energy into heat. There are two designs: drum brakes (older), and disc brakes (newer). Both use hydraulic pressure to move a piston outward. In disc brakes, the piston is located inside a caliper that houses brake pads and fits over the rotor. The friction lining on the pads makes contact with the rotor to slow the vehicle. In drum brakes, the piston moves two curved shoes lined with friction material against the inside of the brake drum.
